Fire John Hynes into the sun. If you’re going to pull the goalie and go for it, do it at the end of regulation. At least try to prevent the Knights from getting a point. Once the Knights get the 1 point, it’s all irrelevant.
The real victory here is being able to turn off the fucking ESPN broadcast.

All in all, this hockey club isn’t bad. We’ve got a BRIGHT future ahead and missing playoffs this year is probably good for us in the long run. But man is it a hard pill to swallow. I wanted to watch some playoff hockey so badly. I’m down bad…

Well.. at least we had some fun this year.
I will now shift my reasons for watching the remaining games to hoping Faber gets a bunch more points so he can pad his inevitable Calder award. LFGBF!
The amount of penalties that went uncalled is ridiculous, can’t afford to have Vegas miss the playoffs. That said we didn’t play good enough to overcome the adversity.

Why pull a goalie thats having a great game?
I would’ve preferred that we pull the goalie in regulation because then VGK would potentially get nothing. However, we did need to pull the goalie at some point. So I can’t be mad at the result in OT. What I would really blame for being in this situation is our subpar record against our division teams and those ahead of us in the standings.
I will say I love that we are the pulling goalie in OT pioneers. Sucks it didn’t work today, but we’ve left our mark on hockey. In our own shitty way lol

Can’t complain about the goalie decision. One point wouldn’t have helped this team in the slightest.
I try my best not to blame the refs, but holy Christ that was the worst reffed game I’ve watched in a long time! At least 2 trips, a slash and a blatant high stick not called and then the softest calls go against us. Bettman was never going to let the Knights miss the playoffs, but at least make it a little more subtle.
At least we got Gophers hockey here in a couple minutes
We score after pulling Gus like we did just a few short weeks ago, and everybody is in here thinking Hynes is a messiah.
I get he’s not the most popular coach (or even one that a majority of teams would want to have at this stage), but at least we’re fucking exciting in risking things.
The real playoffs were the friends we made along the way.. right?
We were 9 points back of Vegas with 10 games remaining. We could have been 7 points back of LA with 9 games remaining.
My terrible take for the day:
I had a nice time and that was a fun game.
Gus played like the season depended on it, Khuts with some promising looks, Fabes and Rossi were their usual selves, thought even Freddy had some fight on defense and Hartman getting a misconduct after we whiffed is the chefs kiss. Plus Kap was absolutely buzzing and Chisholm will outlive even the cockroaches after coming back after that hit.

Honestly, going for 2 here would have kept the season on pure life support. Getting the loser point only hurts the team in terms of draft position. It was the right call.
