Wings got super lucky in the 3rd period and would probably have lost had it not been for Lyon. Absolutely no defense by the Wings during that puck possession by the Bolts. I know Seider plays many minutes, but he's still too vulnerable and blows assignments to much. Regardless, there's a handful of games left so let's see if the Wings can make it. If not, it'll be their fault for blowing it and allowing the Caps and Isles in the mix.

Huge game from the boys to wrap up this road trip. I count this road trip as a success. They got 4 out of 10 possible points but played well in 4 of the 5 games. If they keep playing like they have been they can pull this off.

I like the Walman – Gost pair. Gost still just makes brutal passes and can’t receive a pass 40% of the time but Walman compliments his haphazardness. Chiarot has been playing well with Seider so that leaves Holl or Petry for Simon. Guess you have to stick with the guy who has actually been playing.
Great win. Different than the FL game because they didn’t get shelled and dominated it was back and forth, forecheck was going, neutral zone battles and possession was evident, really seems like they got back to form.

I really like your show! 😎👍 I’d just like to share my experience from Raymond and Edvinsson land. I really needed to sleep, but woke up a couple of minutes after 1 o’clock, right before the game started! I couldn’t go back to sleep. Decided to not watch the game (too exciting/frustrating might cause a heart attack or two), but allowing myself to switch back and forth between the Plays Report in The Athletic app and the live reporting on who’s most likely to win the game on the MoneyPuck website. 😅 When the second period was over I made a half hearted attempt to try to get some sleep and didn’t pick up my phone until it was maybe five minutes left of the game. Oh gosh, my heart was beating really fast when I realized that one point was within reach. And then suddenly it was 3-2 and my heart was beating even faster, realizing they could win. Two huge points! And an unusual way to follow a hockey game, at least for me. 😀🙃 #LGRW
They have to learn how NOT to leave people WIDE OPEN especially on the power play! You have to stifle them with suffocating force king and DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!! Remember under j Demears we were the second highest scoring team in the league behind grestkey s oilers we averaged 5 goals a game and they averaged 7 ! But we couldn't stop anyone defending wise ,but that all changed when s bowman got here he showed Yzerman how to play DEFENSE Why do you think NOBODY wanted to play us because of our STIFLING, PHYSICALLY intimidating DEFENSE!!!!! Lalonde is the main problem during this past losing record. 😤🤬 Lalonde you are an absolute joke for an NHL head coach! You show no emotion or anger whatsoever on the bench and never take a timeout to yell at the team when the players give up 2 or 3 straight quick goals in the first! 😤😡 You don’t even do as little as change the goalie to wake up the team, as most good head coaches do to tell the team they are sucking/leaving their goalie out to dry!! I would be cracking skulls on the bench, if I was watching my team’s lack of drive to get out there and kick ass or go call your agent to go somewhere else to play. A good coach knows how to motivate good players or even not so good players to win. You are not a good coach whatsoever!!! #FIRELALONDE 😤🤬🤬

I know our battle is with the Capitals and Flyers, and we have a game up on Philly, but looking at schedules I think the Capitals have a way tougher schedule down the stretch, and the Flyers have a pretty easy schedule for their last 6…I think its going to come down to the Wings, and the Capitals for the last spot, and the game next week at home against the Caps is going to decide the season by the looks of it, but hopefully the Wings can stretch some wins together and have a 2pt lead going into that game.

* While Petry did contribute significantly to the loss @CAR, it — and all our losses — aren't his fault exclusively. We ride or die as a team, not as individuals. At least one of those goals against in CAR was also on Ras, with Petry even trying to get his attention before feeling forced to leave his own assignment and try to cover Ras' assignment too. Bad call? Maybe. Debatable. But not all on him.
* Focusing on the positives, we played a very strong game and left it all on the ice. We still have a couple tough games coming up, but hopefully the boys keep focus and can put at least some of those all in the win column.
* We're playing meaningful hockey in April for the first time since 2016. Huge boost for this team! LGRW!
I’m gonna laugh when the Wings get knocked out of the playoffs because they need the final game between the Capitals and Philly to end in regulation but then it ends up going to overtime.
Lyon was the game changer. He had two terrific games against the Panthers & last night against the Bolts. He is not a top notch goalie but he has been good esp. through such a difficult March. And yes, Petry did the job lasty night.
The shots on goal don't tell the whole story. The Lightning looked like they were on a power play even with 6 on 5. The Lightnings forechecking and aggressiveness could noit be contained by the Wings. Their roster does not compare, player for player but they7 managed to get a win.
