Hopefully he can get selected so he can have experience with some better players.
Can’t see MacT turning down the opportunity, but based on how fucked we got on injuries this season, I’d rather see him pass. Not only did the injuries completely screw the season, but none of the young guys have any chemistry together in April because of it.
If he’s not injured he should go for it. Will be a fun opportunity.
The main reason he should do this is to do Team Canada a favor and continue building his good relationship with them for the Olympics. If by that time he has captained a junior national team once and played at the World’s twice, Team Canada will heavily favor him and those intangibles could get him on that stacked roster. It is well documented how national teams show heavy bias players towards who they have history with, starting from the junior level.
