Matthews needs:
8 goals in 8 games
If he gets one hatrick( this is needed I think for it to happen), that makes:
5 goals needed in 7 games ,
Let’s say one game he gets a power play goal and leys say one game he gets an ENG ( the boys are feeding him) , Now that’s :
3 goals needed in 5 games
3 5V5 goals through 5 games and boom:
70 goal season.
As it should be.

The easiest solution to this particular conundrum is for Matthews to break Sittler’s 6 goal game record tonight, then pot a couple more next game and then chill for the rest of the season.
He’ll play the final two games if he’s sniffing 70 but he’ll probably only get 5-7 mins of ice time. Maybe only power play
