Goalies: you just can’t buyout Korpi at this point with that contract anchoring you for 8 more years. You hopefully trade Forsberg, or you’re forced to buyout. Bring a guy in at a decent number to show Korpi how to play the position. I know… I hate the thought of Korpi coming back too, but Dorion screwed this team.
Defence: This is the softest d-core I’ve ever seen. With Chabot’s no trade list kicking in this summer this is a total mess. He’s been injured 5 separate times this year. I feel bad for the kid but Homer ‘DJ’ Simpson ran him like a rented mule for several years like they were making a Stanley Cup run. As they say, best ability is availability. Basically you’re stuck with Chabot because of the ticket and Chychrun moves for pennies on the dollar (thanks again Pierre). I’m all in on Roy this off-season. Check out the athletic article regarding best defensive defensemen in the league and you’ll find Roy just under Sanderson. I don’t care, give him the bag. It’s what this team desperately needs.

I don't really understand why the surprise in Ottawa with the goaltending situation. Most free agents do not want to play in Canada because of taxes, weather the way the government handled Covid etc.. I get all that and that's why Canadian teams have a huge disadvantage but regardless of that, Ottawa signed two career backup goalies and were expecting miracles. They develop goalies well and then trade them or expose them to get picked up. It's not really rocket science here. The Senators have 5 goalies in their system and are playing the worst two….. Love your channel, btw

For Ottawa the first thing is a dress the defense first.Who does Ottawa think should be moved,and what options.What Ottawa needs is a defenseman that can carry the puck up the ice and take control of the game.Examples are Demello from Winnipeg to play with Chabot for top pairing Zub and Sanderson second pairing,JBD and Tyler Klevin.Thats one scenario.The other would be Weegar from Calgary with Chychrun,Zub and Sanderson,JBD and Tyler Klevin.
Then there is one more scenario that might work.Weegar and Sanderson,Zub and Zadorov,JBD and Tyler Klevin.That would mean Chychrun and Chabot to go to other teams.
I kind of like the last scenario.Build up your defense with some big players like Zadorov.Montreal has a big right shot 3rd pairing d man in Kovacevic him and Klevin.Many options but some size is needed with a quarterback puck handler on the powerplay

There's no guarantee the Pens grt knocked out in the first round if they make it in. I hate when guys talk like that because everyone knows that playoff hockey is a completely different animal and you cant completely go by how the season went. Especially when every team is so close. If they get in they will surely have momentum. Remember the 122 point Lightening team that got knocked out in the first round to Columbus. Just have to get into the playoffs…the team with the most grit and fight will win.

This channel should be called selective rumours! In an earlier podcast of DFO, Seravelli was pretty clear that core member , the Sens were going to trade, was Tkachuk. He intimated Brady wanted a change and that teams out west were "in talks" although he did expect anything to happen until at least the draft.

Although I'm a long time Red Wings fan, myself, I personally would love to see the Trophy🏆go to Jonathan Drouin, at the end of the day. Things truly did not go well for him during his tenure in Montreal, but I always felt that he still had the raw talent, skills and quiet determination to succeed in the NHL, if he only he link up with a team that would both give him more chances and playing time out on the ice, while simultaneously providing him with a lower pressure off-ice setting to ply his trade (as regards hockey media/fan pressure). JD has certainly found both his hockey form and a team environment where he can positively thrive, now that's he's playing for the Avs, and I think that's really great to see👍👏!
