Let’s get the numbers on how many times they let in the first goal of the game on the first shift. I feel like that might be another hole in the boat. Kind of a big one.
It’s fine, Don has more control over the powerplay now….
From his article:
Since Nov. 30, the Sabres have been within 4 points of a playoff spot entering a game six times, including Sunday against the Red Wings. They have lost all six of those games. In those games, they were outscored 24-11 and scored more than two goals in a single game just once and scored a single goal in three games. In the two games against the Red Wings, the Sabres didn’t have a single five-on-five goal.
The list of those games:
-3 points out Nov. 30, lost to the St. Louis Blues 6-4
-3 points out Dec. 2, lost to the Carolina Hurricanes 6-2
-4 points out Dec. 3, lost to the Nashville Predators 2-1
-3 points out March 16, lost to the Red Wings 4-1
-4 points out March 19, lost to the Vancouver Canucks 3-2
-4 points out April 7, lost to the Red Wings 3-1
I physically can’t watch playoff hockey bc the Sabres ruin it for me every year
Remember when prospects getting experience winning in Rochester was going to be important to them knowing how to win big games in the NHL?
Is there an assistant coach or high school intern in charge of high pressure games we can blame for this
This isn’t coaching issues for sure, GM just told that he like how team is prepared for the games
Good thing they learned from last year 🙄
Not game ready and no poise under pressure, but don’t worry guys it’s not a coaching problem
Quite an illuminating stat.
Let’s try for 14 years , seems like the only record the Sabres can achieve
Some teams are run or coached by living legends.
We have Granato and Adams who both look like they spent most of their lives being shoved into lockers and having their lunches stolen by those living legends.
