1. Gil,rip to jethro a hall of famer on the ice but even a better person off. I’ll always remember that night Clark was guest bartending at my friend’s bar in Astoria. He was working his aarse off sweating for hours. He finally took my advice and took a break. For the next two or three hours I sat next to Clark drinking doing shooters(shots) as he would call them. Listening to stories and just remembering the old days through his eyes. (I was 8 when we won first cup) It was one night this islanders fan will never forget.

  2. Good 🌄 , Gil how are you? The Islanders DEFANGED, AND DECLAWED THE PREDATORS on Saturday, and HIGH TIME ⌚, TOO. Varly put on a show in net. He's definitely the Hero, and so was Noad Dobson, he got the GW goal. I'm not sure who the 🐐 would be this ⌚ Robert Bortuzzo, who coughed up the puck, twice be thankful for Varly. THEY CAME PREPARED TO PLAY. Nice work, Patrick Roy. They play The Rangers tomorrow, and I hope they don't treat The Islanders like an illegitimate child at a family reunion, like they did until 1975. I would stick with Varly, HE'S ON 🔥 RIGHT NOW. The Flyers lost 7 in a row, that's something. I never thought I'd hear anybody say lol. Kyle McClain I think he's a great player, I mean he's getting support from his old man, The Assistant Coach. By making line experimenting by putting Czesikus with Barzal and Horvath. Patrick Roy's probing he's doing a great job. Al Arbour would be proud. HAPPY 70TH🎂, JETHRO 1954-2022. I said it earlier, he could put puck in the net. but at the same time ⌚, he was like Rip Wheeler before Yellowstone was even thought of. I remember May, 12, 1984, when he scored his 🧢 trick against Edmonton, but I also saw the game on YouTube when he scored in OT to beat Boston. He also opened up can of spinach on Terry O'Reilly in the series, if you know what I mean. He was a great guy, ❤ husband, father, and grandfather, and he gave back to Long Island. Hear from you tomorrow, Gil. Next Monday will be another somber day in Islanders hiatory. I'll wait before you go there, because this one is still raw, too. LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  3. Good morning team. RIP Jethro. You will surely be missed. Gil, question.. I believe it's time the Rangers start resting players lol. What do you think? Varly does look really good, and he looks well rested too. Sorokin looked good in his last start as well. This is a great situation, if both our goalies get hot. Skaters still need to play well, and play well consistently. I think we can take the Rangers, at least tomorrow night. Not too sure about the game at MSG on Saturday. Thank you, Gil for another excellent show. After tomorrow's show I'll be traveling north, visiting family in Maine. I'll wave to you as we're going through NY. I'll try to catch the podcast while we're away. Can't make any promises. I'll be back for the Penguins game. Looking forward to tomorrow's show and the Ranger game. We'll talk about this one tomorrow. Everyone have a great day! See you again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  4. Shout out to the crowd no matter what it’s our fan’s responsibility to hype these guys up when they are doing good and bad LGI!!

  5. Morning Gil, we have to start Varly. Go with the hot hand. Watched the Bridgeport game Saturday and it was just dominated by the WBS Pens, McLean would’ve been nice have with the height the WBS players had (side note didn’t know Ruslan Iskhakov was only 5’8”) It was rough to watch, outshot 33-20 and it seemed, the Isles couldn’t stand up on the ice. The free hat and fisherman beach towel made the Bport poor play easier to accept😂

  6. Simple question for the masses. Since we all seem to always attach BUT (insert list if what they did wrong or could do better) to every win, and true perfection is not realistically achievable, what is a "perfect" game for this team as it is? Describe a realistic game that makes us all just say great game – period. I have my own opinion but I am curious as to what the throng thinks.

  7. I hope we aren't being fooled again. Can they beat the Rangers? The last game against the Pens could decide the fate of 3 teams.

  8. rip #9 jethro. Captain. Tough as nails. Saw jethro fight the best-schultz, robinson. Bloodied o'reilly in the bloody '80 second round vs. b's. No one dared lay a hand on bossy, trots with jethro on their line. And he could score-30-35 goal man.

  9. This team sure does like to play head games with the fans….but the one thing they don't play with is consistency, which is why it's hard to believe in them

  10. The truth be told; The Islanders are a sub 500 team. Even if they win the rest of their games, they will have more losses than wins. The only reason they're competing for the playoffs is because the league has this idiotic policy of awarding every team a point when they lose games which are not decided in regulation time. Get rid of this rule and teams will try harder to win because they know they won't get rewarded for losing. The same can be said for the Bruins. Presently, they would not even have more than 90 points if this rule didn't exist. This rule is the equivalency of handing out participation trophies.

  11. Hi Gil!! Ty Gil for what you said about Jethro!! He was our protector and a great, great hockey enforcer and a Hall of Famer!! In the driver’s seat!! Whoever plays best last 10-15 games usually takes it!! We need 4/5—-I can hope for a point Saturday—-we have to have tomorrow!! It’s been the strangest season I’ve experienced! Why not? Go get the spot. Cautiously optimistic—-changes need to be made regardless. Take care Gil!!

  12. I had a dream after that empty net goal..that someones been practicing getting that empty net from inside our zone…because we struggle to skate it out

  13. Awesome Podcast Thanks Gil, Nice tribute to Jethro. Enjoyed the game Saturday night awesome win. Looking forward to Tuesday's game. Gotta get a win against the Rangers!
