Nice assessment of tonight's game Sam and Justin. I was ambivalent about the game as it went along, and I love all those things you pointed out from Knies playing well in front of Dubas to Domi going after Bunting. I'm glad the Leafs won in OT and I guess at least the Pens got a loser point.

Could these 2 blow crosby harder? This is a leafs talk show and you are telling me it's hard to cheer against Sid?
When is high-sticking not a penalty? When it is a follow through, and when there is no contact. McMann on Crosby both no contact, and a follow through even if there is contact. Not a penalty and it's perfect that they call the double minor so that they have a chance to call it correct.
It looks like a high-stick and likely should be called. By the rules it is clearly not a high-stick penalty.
Penalty on Nylander is 100% a Crosby penalty for holding the stick but is the exact type of play that officials in this league call incorrectly far more often than not. -Directive from the league on how they want things to be called vs what the rulebook dictates. (Exactly the type of call that makes the officials look bad to the fans but good to the league!)
It sounds like Crosby didn’t see the ice in OT because he was getting his skate fixed. Which would make a lot more sense.

Awesome game tonight, nice to see Mathews get 65, if he can hit 72, it would be considered the 4th best season of all time, Ovechkin’s 65 is considered the second best season of all time, based on era adjustments.

I can't be alone in thinking that this new 'role' that Matthews has taken as the sole superstar and driver of a single line could potentially lead to a paradigm shifting transition from his play as the best goalscorer in the league to 'potentially' one of the best point producers in the league! We know he's good for 50 or 60 goals a season, easily. He does that in his sleep. Add 40 assists, as a minimum, and we have a 100 or 110 point player. But IF this sticks, and he continues to grow into this role, is it not beyond the realm of possibility that he becomes a MacKinnon-like player who pots 65G and adds an extra 70 assists to become a bonafide 130-150 point player? I think we could witness something like this next season, and I can't wait to see it!

I’ve commented similar things on multiple videos through the year…it is so weird how grown men are so hung up on an old GM. A GM. As a pens fan I’ve seen so many GMs come and go and not once have I thought about them after they left. It’s extremely creepy that leaf fans are so overwhelmingly fixated on him.

Let Marner feast on the 3rd line. Willy looked sleepy for the couple games before Marner came back but before that Willy-JT-McMann looked great. I get Marner is a pouter but hopefully he understands that this will give us the best chance to win.
