Laviolette was really mad. Rempe will be a mainstay in the lineup now I bet.

  2. _HotBeef

Anyone have video of Laf getting boarded prior to trocheck’s? I believe it was around the 1 min mark or so.

  3. Asteriskib

Refs are totally fucking stupid and blind. Rangers need to learn how to play a full fucking game too

  4. neurash

Rangers were awful in the first.
Isles were awful in the second.
Refs were awful in the third.

  5. PhillyJ739

I hope Rempe plays but only if he keeps his hits clean. We need his injection of energy for 60 minutes, not 2 seconds TOI

Calling for him to fuck shit up is irresponsible

  6. Elsewhere_Not_Here

Oh man Lavi is piiiiisssed. I’ve never seen him that fired up. I’d hate to be an Islander on Saturday.

  7. MrLincoln1989

I wonder if Trocheck would’ve gotten boarded like that if Rempe was in the lineup

  8. lnfln1ty

Someone just tell me Mika is ok, I didn’t see the game. That’s all I care about.

  9. Henrietttta

How far into the game will Rempe get ejected on Saturday lmao

  10. PaulMarnersFurHat

I really hope we don’t see piece of shit referees like Wes and Kelly in the playoffs frequently. Give me Frederick L’Ecuyer and Corey Syvret for any Game 7.

  11. sovietdoppelganger

Very annoying game, but the magic number is now just two for the division and the East. Two wins no matter what, or even just one win and a loss from Boston/Carolina will seal it.

  12. silverprayer

i don’t know if i agree with lavi about the mika hit (he was literally looking in the opposite direction and skated into pelech, who just happened to be standing in such a way, etc.) but the no call on dobson boarding trocheck at the end was egregious

  13. Envelopen

Only good thing about this result is that it could ignite them to prevent the lackluster starts again

Vesey trip with plenty of time left needs to be called, and then two boards in the final minute of play need to be called. Those aren’t 50/50 tick tacky penalty’s. Those are clear cut penalty’s. I hate this game managing culture the NHL has, it happened all last year with the oilers they just had too good a PP so refs had to stop calling penalty’s.

In a more rational vain, the isles score two of their goals on super lucky bounces in a period the rangers didn’t even try. And then got embarrassingly out skated for 40 minutes and got bailed out by their backup goalie. We still control our destiny, just need to beat the flyers on Thursday. I hope Lavi puts Rempe in on Saturday for the rematch, since the refs failed to call the penalty’s the players have to police the game now.

And most importantly hope Mika is okay, hope for at the worst it’s a mild concussion. If that’s a jaw injury he could really miss some time.

Seeing Lav that PISSED, I’M ready for fucking Saturday. So fucking ready. Gallant and Quinn were wet beta fucking noodles and would have done fucking nothing.

Lav is a FUCKING LEADER. and I FUCKING LOVE IT.

  16. MarsHotelSouth

Who the fuck is calling Vesey a loser?! I just wanna talk

  17. Hionhelium87

The end of that game got me so riled up I angrily washed dishes. I do feel a little better now 😂

  18. Sapzz93

Any word on Mika? I missed most of the game but heard he got injured?

  19. sovietdoppelganger

Playing Washington in the first round is ideal, them or the lousy Red Wings

  20. adsason

Picturing Vesey waking up everyone morning and checking standings and thinking of scenarios just like me

  21. Key-Tip-7521

Okay, someone help me here, what is the tiebreaker between the Rangers and Canes? I know head to head favors the Rangers, so what is it?

  22. Zero-jiggler

Do people here legitimately think Rempe moves the needle or am I just not in on the joke? Him lumbering around the ice for 5 minutes trying to throw a hit/fight someone isn’t gonna do jack shit. I thought we learned after Reaves that dressing an ineffective player for “toughness” makes your team worse.

  23. crazypants36

The Rangers need to wake up from their naps a little earlier because it seems like they’ve been outplayed in every 1st period for a good while. I love that they can come back, but I’d rather they didn’t have to for once!

And I couldn’t watch the game, but I listened, and I’ve never heard their radio guys get so mad about how the refs were in the dwindling moments of the game. Holy moly, musta been some crazy missed calls. Regardless, that doesn’t wash away the Rangers 1st period woes.

  24. ItsHeadbangerG

Look I could shit on the refs all night long, and rightly so; if these fucking chumps had their heads up their asses any farther they’d have ouroborus’d themselves out of existence in those final minutes. Ref bashing aside, the issues at 5v5 continue. Some thing’s gotta give going into the playoffs because living and dying by the powerplay is not a great plan. Didn’t help being down 3 goals early in the game either. I didn’t get to watch the first so I can’t say if Shesty had a bad first period, but the rest of the game was pretty solid. I’m glad Mika is okay.

Onto the next one. See you Thursday.

  25. HoyasRangers

Game lost in the 1st period. Will be a very short playoff stay if this is how they play in the 1st 10 minutes.

  26. Fancy_Combination436

Obv needed to come out hotter, and obv the 1st was why we lost. But honestly feel like the bigger question the team needs to figure out is how in the world we didn’t score in the 3rd. Total domination and great play, no execution and nothing to show for it. I get that the isles were probably turtling and that has a lot to do with it, but damn thats where we need that killer instinct to bury it.

I seriously think we’re the best team in the league right now at *playing* hockey, but that doesn’t always reflect in goals. Honestly a big red flag for the playoffs if they can’t bring that finishing intensity. Its almost like we’re too good for our own good

  27. RainandPixels

Igor actually played a good game. We were terrible in the 1st.

  28. Large_Squirrel1446

Lav is PISSED! Check out his postgame presser. Claims Pelech intentionally shouldered/elbowed Mika 😬

  29. silversappho

on the bright side, this islanders win eliminated the devils from playoff contention

  30. 4th line starting on Saturday I’m guessing…

  31. TheCrustyIncellious

This team is much worse with Truba and Gustafsson. But yet theyalways play. Why is this?

  32. deeply_sighing

The Pelech hit was intentional. You can clearly see him slow his stride and angle himself so Mika, who he saw was looking down ice, would hit him. He was ready for contact. Fuck him.
