I’d be taking it as bad, very bad.

There is a lot of smoke right now, likely there is a lot of movement behind the scenes

  2. GaryBettmanIsMyHomie

If it’s true, hopefully it’s a complete failure for SLC and their ownership. I will never want to see them succeed

  3. Palaeeudyptes

This is progress for SLC, not for us unfortunately.

  4. krepitch

From the franchise perspective, if they move it is good because it means they will win the Cup next year.

One last puck to the teeth of Coyote fans.

Waiting for a non seravelli source but not looking great

  6. Sliiiiime

Meruelo is a complete clown. Why put all of that work towards the new development efforts if they were always going to be moved?

  7. Throw_away91251952

As a person from salt lake, I hope your Coyotes stay in Arizona. Sorry to all you fans

  8. blackmanta02

Might be contingent on them winning the land or not in June

There’s an article on Espn from earlier today, more detailed, that the NHL could announce the relocation to Utah next month. I don’t understand, they won’t wait to see what happens in the auction? What’s the hurry?

If they lose the auction, they move to SLC starting next season

  11. Boring-Material-1203

Could be wrong, but I don’t think the two schedules thing would have come out if staying wasn’t something they were looking at. Why even bother with one in AZ? Hopefully it’s a backup. If they move they lose all credibility. No way this deal just materialized in a few days

If it’s not from Craig Morgan I don’t care tbh

Seravalli reported last week that the Coyotes literally were unable to sign anyone to contracts due to financial issues.

We signed Sam Lipkin to a contract like the very next day.

    He’s not a reliable source.

We’ve been hearing it for years, but this is the first time I’ve seen a specific city pointed out, with a timeline.

I live in salt lake city and follow the news a lot on these sports expansions they are pitching. SLC is growing at a rediculous rate but the real reason is the olympics. The billionaires in utah are using the olympics as an excuse to build these new venues using tax payer money and have a greenlight. Regardless of an expansion or a team relocating in next season they are building these venues anyways. Its not if but its when a team gets here. First team to pounce on the overwhelming support from the government for their new home and state of the art venues. Salt lakians dont get a say.

Let’s hold fast, fellas. I know it looks like a done deal, but I believe it’s contingent on whether the Coyotes win the land auction in June. It makes sense from a business perspective to have a contingency plan like this in place.

Just trying to stay positive until the NHL or the team itself literally says that the team is relocating.

This is not good for my mental health, first the chargers now the yotes.

  18. IHVeigar

This is not good at all, I wouldn’t ever wish the death of a franchise ever. You guys got a small fanbase but a loyal one never the less. Hope it goes well for you guys

  19. PhillyNWZee29

I hope there is egg on this scumbag’s face when the team stays.

  20. CuriousCelebration92

If it happens I’ll never watch the NHL again. Time saved I guess.

  21. iWARxMACHINEi

Coyotes need to stay in Arizona!! Fuck Utah

  22. Ineedmorcowbell

If they leave, they are dead to me! Dead!

  23. FatherFenix

Contingency plan, they (Xavier Gutierrez) openly discussed this was the idea in case the arena deal gets torpedoed.

That said, it’s white noise until someone other than Seravalli says it. Dudes been caught throwing shit at walls to see what sticks enough for me not to trust his “breaking news”.

  24. MousseNo8403

Hasn’t the league already confirmed that next season will be at the mullet? That was a few weeks ago before the auction date was even set.
