    Extend this man immediately.

I know it’s been 2.5 seasons (how crazy is that?), but I still can’t believe fuckin *Martin St. Louis* is our coach!

Give him what he wants wathever it may be

I know Hughes has done well with his asset management and drafting so far, but so help me if Martin St. Louis is not a HUGE reason why the future looks so good.

If everyone takes a step this offseason, this team could be scary in a couple years: and I’m ready to see this team built properly.

Add him a couple more years. The job is not done yet. This is a young team now, and it takes time and experience to push them into playoff contenders.

    Incoming contract extension.

HuGo will do the right thing again, as usual, as expected.

    MSL will stay.

I can’t imagine the day we won’t want this guy anymore

MSL is a large reason why the fanbase is so patient with this team and the process. Future looks promising, and he’s definitely a part of it.

Extend him, and while we’re at it, fire Dominique Ducharme again.

So great to hear. I hope they extend him in the Summer. He’s doing a fantastic job. My one message to MSL would be « to yell at the refs louder and more often please! ».

    Supreme Coach Appointment! Lifetime position!

This guy has to be the only coach in the 30+ years I’ve cheered for this team who hasn’t had the fanbase divided 18 months into his tenure.

Unless the team becomes a dumpster fire next year or something, I can’t think of a reason why Hughes wouldn’t possibly extend St-Louis.

Not only is St-Louis Hughes’ guy, but Hughes took a big risk hiring a man who hadn’t been head coach above the pee-wee level in what was at the time his first major decision as General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens. Having this decision pay off gives a significant amount of credibility to Hughes, and as long as Martin want to stick around, I think Hughes would need a major reason to fire St-Louis.

As a kid, I always used to hate it when the habs would play like the rangers, and MSL would always score on us. It drove me nuts. Back in the day, I couldn’t stand, and it wasn’t for any personal reasons. It was just fan shit. Now I love the guy.

  14. He is a great development coach, that is for sure. I’m not sure if he is the guy who’s going to get us to where we want to be once our guys are developed. Look at Granato

I’ve been so emotionally invested and devoted to the habs from 2008 to 2022. I really needed to take a step back this season as the frustration and disappointment kept rising.

I tried to stay up to date through the season, but I really didn’t need to put so much time watching my habs fall short game after game.

Start of the season was a mess. Dach injury, sub par production by Caufield. Suzuki had a really slow start and Slaf has yet to find his game.

Nevertheless, the last stretch manage to bring back hope and optimism. It really feels like this organization is ready to take a huge step forward next season. It’s good to see the worst is behind us now.

Every piece is falling into place, starting with the coach.

I think the tank is over!
