I like the meme, but after the Soto trade the Nats are set up to be able to legit contend in a few years. Caps outlook probably isn’t quite as good as that, but sneak into the playoffs and you never know.

To be fair, the commanders haven’t actually gone through a true rebuild until now. Snyder was never willing to fully commit to that.

DC United is doing ok but the Caps and maybe the Spirit are the good teams of the district.

We haven’t hit the rebuild yet. Remember that we were expected to make the playoffs at the start of last season. We’re still on the decline overall, but we are in position to rebuild quite quickly if our young guys and prospects show a lot of improvement over the next few years since we haven’t traded away our future like the Pens.

Honestly I’m just happy to be here. I was watching the season for Ovi goals, didn’t expect us to make the playoffs at all.
I’m also laughing at the number of Wings fans cheering for us to get swept in the first round. 1. They’re watching from the couch and the wings probably wouldn’t have done any better than we’re going to (they lost all their games against the Rangers in the regular season, we won 2), and, 2. I don’t think many of our fans expect us to get past the rags anyway
