Looks like he couldn’t play it anyway, highstick in the neutral zone? Brutal though

  2. Maleficent-Media1914

Wonderful effort by the boys so far tonight. Can’t wait for playoffs

  3. NorthernMariner

Love how it happened so quick that he still gets the -1

  4. Acrobatic_Law5598

He’s frustrated. It shows. Embarrassing finish to the season. Hopefully it’s motivation in the post season. So much potential but still immature.

    I mean… this doesn’t surprise me.

    Leafs in prime playoff form

willy: why was this pass over my head? why are my teammates ass? this is so depressing. im gonna half ass it.

also willy: i should take up 13.7% of the cap. definitely no need to consider how much that leaves the team to spend on talent around me.

    11.5×8 folks.

    Worth every single penny.

That might have been the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in professional hockey. Fuck I can’t stop laughing. Thanks Leafs!

  10. Seem very overt that he thought it was a high stick stoppage after he batted the puck out of mid air but ofc everyone piling on their narrative

Maybe he lapsed in that part of the situation but at least be intellectually honest

    Yeesh

Do the leafs know the playoffs haven’t started yet? 😂 But seriously there should be clauses in contracts for when overpaid stars pull lazy stuff like this, automatic 20 percent cut off the contract duration.

He hit it with a high stick and opted not to touch it….if he was gonna get off he shoulda just touched it

  13. 21_Sandwich_21

Just trying to think of where he wants to go for vacation after the first round

  14. Canadian--

Getting into playoff form early 👌

This is how the Leafs play in round 1. “Weathers too nice. Would rather be golfing”

If Nylander didn’t reach for it, it would have landed beside/behind the lightning Dman. Nylander was facing forward and could have accelerated much quicker. Instead he swatted for it and then gave up. He also could have just touched it and taken the face off or stared it down with the Dman and delayed until the rest of his line either got off or formed up. But he just gave up.

It’s so much fun being a leafs fan

Shit pass, and the D that made the initial pass just let’s a man behind him for a breakaway, as did his partner.

Yeah, that’s a shit effort and all, but one player having a mental lapse in the offensive zone shouldn’t lead to a goal 4 seconds later.

That was a team breaking down that lead to that goal, not just one player.

Leafs look like they are playoff ready. Can’t wait to see them knocked out of the first round again by Boston.

  20. Canadian_mk11

Don’t you just hate it when your controller disconnects…

  21. debotch

Oof. That’s got a playoff ready vibe for sure.

  22. Deanmarrrrrr

Just when I was about to pick the Leafs over Boston in my pool I see this. I’m reminded of how overrated, soft, and not suited for the playoffs the Leafs are. Boston in 7 again. Nylander is pathetic without the puck.

  23. Conserving energy for the playoffs obviously

  24. lampsslater77

Was it not a high stick call? Probably figured it was a good time to change since he couldn’t touch the puck.

  25. Really gearing up for a run here. Betting against the leafs in the playoffs is the easiest money you’ll ever make boys.
