If Kane leaves I won’t be that sad he was a fine player but he lacks the ability to try he’s a offensive guru but with him being 35 I’m not worried he’s only gonna get slower and more lazy with the puck if we are gonna compete going forward I don’t know if he’s part of that

I don’t see Kane coming back. He came to Detroit to prove that he can still compete and that he’s healthy, now he wants to play out his last few seasons on a top Stanley cup competitor. Kane, his agent, and everyone else knows how close to the cap the top teams are, so I doubt his AAV is going to be a top concern for him and his agent – he’s also made plenty of money over his career. I see him going to Carolina, the hurricanes will probably see a lot of roster changes with the amount of UFAs/RFAs this summer, he could slot right in on a cheap contract after they inevitably lose 2-3 guys to free agency.

For Kane, it's gonna come down to term, money and team in a clear playoff picture. Not many contender teams can offer a large sum of money. Detroit is one of those teams that can meet those needs.
I like Kane but he's getting older and he's a lot slower than he was in his prime. Wings SHOULD NOT re-sign him unless he'll sign for about the same amount for no more than 3-4 years, and that's actually pushing it. He can't keep up with these young players on the league and he doesn't play defense either. If I were Kane, I would re-sign for nearly the same amount for 3-4 years, then retire. I can't see any other team signing Kane for much more than he made this season, and I can't see a team signing him for more than a couple of years. Perron wasn't as much of an impulse as Kane was, but unlike Kane, Perron has made it clear that he wants to stay in Detroit and who knows if he can endeavor to be a player/assistant coach as well, so long as his time on the ice is limited, because he, like Kane, can't keep up and skate like these young guys could. I say offer him less than his salary for the next 2-3 years in a limited role, with the possibility to transition to an assistant coach thereafter. I've had my reservations about Seider and his blown assignments, but if he can mature within the next couple of years into a Larry Robinson-type prospect with the likes of an Edvinnson on the other side, these 2 could be huge for the Wings development as defensemen. And what can you say about Raymond. This kid should probably have a more lucrative contract than the captain himself, Larkin. Larkin may be good, but Raymond is looking more like a prodigy, a class you can't put Larkin in.
I like McCarty on Woodward sports…but he's such an yzerman Slappy it make me sick..stop giving him a free pass..ive seen basement dwelling teams turn it around in 2 years to at least make the playoffs
