Last year in the playoffs they were without Svechnikov (having the best year of his career), Teravainen and Pacioretty.
Two years ago they had to play the Rangers and had their 3rd string goalie (who had never played an NHL game before then) in because both Freddy and Rantta were injured.
I am not saying that the Canes will beat the Rangers but I feel like Rod Brind'Amour is more armed this year than in past seasons. Both in terms of skill and health of players. I think in previous seasons injuries played a huge role.
