he looked good this year, he can clearly still play. if he understands theres a new guard/new leadership and he’s a vet presence (like we hoped corey perry would have been), why not?

Davidson will never bring him back sadly

  3. JamesTiberiusCrunk

I think it would be fun if he came back but it’s not happening

  4. Chicago_Jayhawk

Not happening. Davidson already said he wants the new guys to be face of the franchise.

Yes I know it’s not happening (as every comment feels the need to point out), but at least he might not go back to the Redwings. Maybe he does the O6 sweep.

If he didn’t want to be in rebuild mode then, why would he now?

  7. Baron_VonDoom

Why would he want to come back here and suffer?

Where there is delusion there is hope,
    BRING HIM HOME

Teuvo-Bedard-Kane. I would love to see that

Huh? That article didn’t sound anything like he wasn’t open for a return lol. All Kaner is looking for is a good team with better terms. He played well for Detroit, and even though they imploded, they should still get better. If they offer him 2/3 year contract he would definitely go back. As a hawks fan I don’t want him to come back home. Nothing for him here, rather he stack accolades and points playing elsewhere.

  11. This was his prove-it year for the hip, and he did that. He’ll likely have more suitors this time around.

He’s sounding like a player who talked with his agent and decided he will be negotiating for more than a 2 year contract. I’d say there’s >50% chance he re-signs with Detroit.

This year was about Kane proving to himself and others he can still play. He achieved that. I don’t care where he goes as long as it’s a good fit and he starts game 1 next season. Hockey is better with Kane on the ice.
