We were two dumb defensive plays/two plays of Georgie balling out from winning last night. We made the god bleed, and absolutely ran the ice the majority of the game. We clear up the defensive stupidity, and Georgie gets out of his head/Juice shows up big, we win this series easy.
Start Juice next game. As long as our guys keep playing like this, he doesn’t have to be great. He just needs to be average.
I did not watch any Jets games this year and knew that they are deep but I was unimpressed, that game could have easily been ours but we know why it wasn’t. The gameplan seemed to be extra aggressive knowing/expecting he was going to give up so many goals. What is it 3/4 he’s given up 7? Full yips and I don’t see it getting better. Still think we can even series and head back home looking good but I hope Justin isn’t sick by tomorrow.
Really hope Annunen is at least available to play backup on Tuesday. Last night was such a missed opportunity and to have a W slip through our fingers is so frustrating. I have been on the “D needs to tighten up/coverage needs to improve” train all season but I’m at the end of the road with Georgiev. Defense isn’t always gonna be perfect, but it just can’t be an excuse anymore. I’m tired of begging for even mediocre goaltending.
Girard coming back should improve our defense and hopefully cut down on mistakes. I think it’s positive that we were able to generate sustained offensive pressure against Winnipeg, which was a concern after our previous meetings this year. Need to carry that momentum into game 2 and hopefully come back to Denver with a series split.
I’m not concerned yet. Remember when we smoked Vegas Game 1 in 2021? We’re more experienced, better on paper and better on the ice, except for G.
And Nate is even more mad now, hopefully.
Feeling really optimistic about the series. We absolutely played our game yesterday and don’t think the Jets can keep up the pace. A few more saves and that’s a win
