Let's be real. You get the good, the bad and the ugly with the Islanders. If you lived through the Cup years (1979-1984), you were on top of the hill! No team could beat this team for 4 years. That will never happen again!! Move forward 40 years and you get some good and some bad. It was a terrible loss. Not happy that the refs called penalties in favor of Canes 5-1.
If there is any playoff sweep this year I said it would be islands canes series.. that Canes would do it in 4. 3rd period went to bed, laughing to myself saying I’ll wake up to see Islanders blew the lead and lost the game!! Sometimes teams come true! #LGR

Capitals and Islanders in the playoffs but not the Sabres…again.. this is whats gonna happen when teams that arent good enough to be there make it. Maybe now that the Sabres will have a "Ruffer" personality going into next season we wont have to sit through these garbage ass teams make the playoffs every year.

Well, it's not all gloom and doom and heartache for Islanders fans. John Tavares scored last night. So that should take a bit of the sting out.
I think I had the Isles taking a game or two off the Canes in this series, much like last year. After this loss, however, I just can't see how they even bounce back from this. It does feel like the sweep's comin'.
I just wanna share a stat real quick that is insane. The Canes had possession of the puck in the offensive zone FOR JUST OVER 20 MINUTES. Walt Ruff showed the stat on twitter.
