@Predators de Nashville

People who think that the Canucks didn't work didn't watch the game.

They had 86? 87? shot attempts, Nashville had 26. The problem wasn't our not working. It was puck luck, and the shooting into bodies. We are not winning unless we change our shooting patterns. We don't have Demko to save our ass anymore.

  2. I was there and when we were losing the crowd was so quiet also everyone was yelling at petterson lol

  3. the contract seemed to put even more pressure on him after he was already struggling with "outside noise"….this kid is good but he does not create space and take over games like he used to. Is he hiding an injury? Something could be up..but you're right, his confidence needs to increase for him to be a factor. Our depth is carrying us right now. Also, let's be honest….we really need Demko.

  4. This has been the case since the All Star Break, he just needs his confidence back, it’s not the playoffs for sure

  5. Predators playing style is not sustainable. I would imagine their body’s are bruised up and in pain. Pettersson and the powerplay both need to be better. Canucks are still the better team too, gutsy win by the Predators though.

  6. EP40 hasn't been himself or played well since the All Star break. So many times he passed the puck instead of shooting, not skating, staying on the periphery, missing the net when he did shoot. He isn't built for playoff hockey – no toughness mentally or physically.

  7. Too many people saying Petey will be fine. The time is now not later. Petey is not fine and he needs to be way better if the canucks want to make a run.

  8. Let's see how many dislikes i get here. Hockey is a buisness, gota go to 7 games, most of them. Any idea how much money that is? Don't you remember game 7 against the rangers?

  9. He has the most points by any player in a playoff in the swedish League taking over Peter Forsbergs spot so he has it in him

  10. I never thought DeSmith was gonna win the Canucks the game. He isn’t that good imo. He isn’t consistent

  11. It's only two games people say, bah humbug , with Pettersgon it's been ever since he signed an 11 million dollar contract .some of you sound like Biden backers the way you make excusses for the dud

  12. I've been wondering for months were pettersson is, ever since he stopped fighting for the scoring lead. Months ago…halfways through the season…

  13. i don’t think the predators were the hungrier team. watching the game canucks were in control of the puck the majority of the time. nashville did a great job eating pucks and disrupting lanes but they did not look like they were outworking vancouver

  14. It always feels so deflating when your starting goalie gets injured during the playoffs. Especially after we just got him back, too. DeSmith is still a good goaltender in his own right, but he just isn't Demko. If the Canucks play smart, they can still win this series, but I feel like it will be rockier. Hopefully Petterson can get going in game 3. Godspeed Canucks.

  15. Disagree, the Canucks has been the better team 5 on 5 through most of the series so far. Special teams are really hurting the Canucks as their PP has been abysmal. It doesn't help one of the main components of that PP is Petey and he is holding that stick way too hard at the moment. He's struggling & the Canucks need him if they want to go far especially with Demko out.

  16. 190k a week…..you can bet not one general manager would trade for him someone of ‘equal value’ like an Auston Mathews…. Would be career suicide

  17. He's trying to make the perfect shot and the perfect pass. Even on the net he missed, he was going bar in or bar down. Like you said, he hits those 99 times. Canuck fans know this guy can snipe, but he really needs to simplify his game and just shoot and one time his shots. He will eventually score.

  18. He's a fraud. No guts, no mental fortitude. 12mil "superstars" don't disappear for months. It's not just two games. He's not a kid anymore. 6 seasons, 400+ games. Get your shit together.

  19. Thing is he's had a very poor last couple months not just the start of the playoffs. A lot of us were hoping the playoffs would wake him up but it's just been more of the same. I haven't written him off yet but the frustration has been from a lot more than just the last two games.

  20. OK, Paused after 30 secs..You have good content but Nash was more determined !?! Did you watch the game!? Nucs dominated in chunks , Preds are prob still ice-packed up.

  21. Guy held off on signing an extension the whole off season last year and start of the season this year.

Soon as he inks a big deal, he forgot how to play hockey lol. I could have put the puck in that wide open net.. He's getting paid over 12m a year… You can't be performing worse than a 4th liner lol

  22. Petterson is acting like a little child, he doesn’t need to ask the coach how to be better player, dudes a grown ass man, he seemed to be fine signing a huge contract, suddenly he’s a ghost! When he does have the puck he looks like a rookie, he doesn’t know what to do with it.

  23. I feel bad for Demko. Getting injured at the beginning of the playoffs sucks, especially if the team that you’re playing on hasn’t been to the playoffs for a bit. This is coming from a preds fan. Yall probably have the series easily with demko in goal.

  24. Hockey fans can be disappointing, particularly Canucks fans. This is Pettersson's first real look at the playoffs where the stage is a little bigger and the lights are a little brighter. He'll be fine, he's learning. This is NOT Vancouver's all-in year, this is Vancouver's first year of their contention window. Simple as that. What's more, anyone who watched that game should know that Vancouver was every bit in it from start to finish – they had something like 80+ shot attempts. Credit Nashville 100% for the solid game and insane shot blocking (and the Canucks wildly missing the net). This is looking like a great series, but it's not about who's hungrier. Also, Vancouver's PP has not looked dangerous, which can sink any team in a series.

  25. imagine not knowing that casper is a racist term for blacks, then using that term towards an aryan man.

  26. ——– Beast Mode – Former Canuck Ryan Kesler ————
Kesler is widely viewed as instrumental in getting the Canucks past Nashville, their second-round opponent during the 2011 cup run.

The two-way forward earned the nickname “Beast Mode” after racking up five goals and 11 points in the six games it took the team to down the Predators.

“ We could beat you any way we wanted to. If you wanted to out-hit us
    we would out-hit you.
If you wanted to skate us into the ground, we would skate you back.
If you wanted to out-skill us, we are up for that, too ,” Kesler said of
    his 2011 teammates. ”

———– “ It was a team that could win any way,
and I feel like this team has a lot of similarities. “ ———–

  27. we feel bad about him, just hope he comes back just some conifdence and start to make moves, feels like the trainer put him infront of the goile? pray hes coming back,

  28. Never liked pettersons game before the contract, and it’s compounded even more that he’s overpaid. He’s basically Marner in Toronto. Good when the physicality is low. Disappears when it’s high.
