@Golden Knights de Vegas

Je dois l’adorer. Les chiffres finaux pour le LTIR et le plafond atteint. Pourtant, nous recevons toute la haine.

People have to have an excuse for why the Knights are good. It can’t be that they are good players, with a good coach, and fantastic management. NHL fans are the saltiest and nastiest of all sports!

    GO KNIGHTS GO! ❤💛🖤

If you look at the roster totals and add up Forwards-Defense-Goalies

Toronto has a roster on the ice of 85 mill

Vegas has a roster on the ice of 95 mill

EDITL: Tampa Bay has 82 mill

Embrace the hate my man, everyone hates VGK because you’re the friggin champs!! Nobody would say a gd thing if Vegas was an 18th place team. I’d love to be in that position once in my life

  4. topgun966

Seriously, if you are not a Knights fan, or supporter, why the fuck are you here? You guys pummel us in r/hockey and r/nhl and r/hockeymemes. Can you just leave us the hell alone in our own sub?

So we can’t be Cap Circumvention Enjoyers* anymore? Next you’re going to tell me Stone’s injury was legit. I was having so much fun being on Team Villain! 😂🦹‍♀️ ⚔️

*Btw whoever coined this term, it lives in my head rent-free!

  6. flamingdragonwizard

Leafs are the most hated hockey team and have been for many many years. Not saying much. Tampa also is retaining and very hated.

  7. This doesn’t show case the value of the team actually playing on the ice, in which vegas is in the lead by a very large margin, around 10 million if i’m not mistaken.

  8. _RiverGuard_

How about you post the total on ice salary for each team in the playoffs ?

  9. buckfutten

But we’re the only ones with « fake » injuries.

  10. ThePoodlePunter

Vegas are the only ones near the top without a major player out in the playoffs. The other teams there are using LTIR properly for a player(s) that can’t play.

Vegas is doing it to circumvent the cap in the playoffs, there’s a difference. They’ve made it blatantly obvious with the timing over the past couple years that they are manipulating Stones injury timing to circumvent the cap. They are actively running this lineup, the other teams can’t.

You tell yourself whatever you gotta tell yourself, and it’s the leagues fault, not Vegas’. But this graph just proves it more, that what Vegas is doing is cheesy.

Imagine if Marner got injured before the trade deadline 3 years in a row, and the leaf signed a couple guys for 10 mil and then brought Marner back in the playoffs, and then theyre running a 100 mil lineup in the playoffs while most teams are at 80-90. I’m sure you would love that.

  11. This picture doesn’t actually show anything though. Most of those teams using LTIR aren’t dressing those players in the playoffs and subsequently playing above the cap. Vegas is playing a roster well above the cap. What is your point by sharing this photo?

  12. SirLunatik

As an outsider, I have no issue with the Knights and their use of LTIR. I’m smart enough to know that all LTIR claims are vetted by league doctors. Hell I even am cheering for you in the first round.

But this graphic is awful in the sense that it doesn’t actually show what people are complaining about. It’s not about how much is used, it’s about how it is used.

None of the Leafs $14m+ on LTIR are playing in the playoffs. Tampa has $16m+ on LTIR not playing in the playoffs. Avalanche have $9 million on LTIR not playing in the playoffs.

If you’re going to make a post mocking people complaining about you, at least have it make sense. Like show you’re only using sub-$3m in LTIR space in the postseason.

  13. RaiderGoalie

Except one small thing…. the players putting those teams over the cap aren’t playing, unlike vegas lmao. Hockey literacy is hard, you’ll get the hang of it eventually

  14. spddemonvr4

    This comparison doesn’t make sense.

If a $12m a year player is out all season and replace with a $2m player on the roster. LTIR is still 12m.

  15. Uzasodinson

This is fucking embarrassing. You know that’s not the argument they’re making.

  16. Knights_When

The funny thing is, if we go to Oilers/Stars/etc sub and say anything even closely resembling what some of you fucking lurkers say here, your fragile fandom and mods just throw a ban hammer.

  17. CMB3672

Make a post of all the players that played in game 1 with their salaries. If they are over the salary cap, welll that’s why people are not friendly to the knights.

  18. CheerMiester

Except all of those teams ahead of Vegas are without players landy on Colorado, Murray muzzin on Toronto, sergachev on Tampa

These players are ACTUALLY injured mark stone isn’t and is Able to take advantage

  19. OneNutPhil

Toronto is a bunch of career ending injuries and whatevers left of Murray

  20. InternationalPost447

The point is the other teams LTIR player doesn’t miraculously heal himself the day before playoffs begin

  21. desertbirdwatcher

If yall keep winning and wondering why the rest of the league doesn’t love you, you’ll turn into 90’s Cowboys fans. Best tread lightly on that one.

  22. You don’t even understand why you get hate! It’s not for using the LTIR. It’s for your captain being ready for game 1 of the playoffs 2 years in a row so you can add players at the trade deadline. But honestly, I could care less. But that is why everyone is mad.

  23. CharaxS

It’s not a question of LTIR used over the course of the regular season. The issue is manipulating the system to ice a 20 man team that collectively exceeds the salary cap.
