  1. Tampa would never want Marner. He just doesn't fit the team's chemistry – nor would Florida or Vegas or Colorado. If you are serious about winning the Cup, Marner is not the player you want.
I think the only way he moves is if the Leafs sign him to a $12 million – 4 year extension and retain 1/2 of it.

  2. Forget about it too much of a cost for this guy way overpaid for his production take about 4 million off and he might be a good trade for somebody let's get real he's not for real

  3. If you really think about it, trading Marner for a bag of pucks will, at the least, free up the 12.5 mil he's gonna want to resign. That money will get at least 2 hard nose D-men.

  4. If the leafs trade marner theyre gonna need to retain AT LEAST 30% of his cap hit…

  5. Leafs haven't played poorly they outplayed the bruins and doesn't help that Marchand causes a penalty but never gets calls

  6. It's funny to hear that Toronto is the centre of the hockey universe when really it's the same as any large hockey market. Marner is a perimeter regular season player and has not matured yet into an all around playoff performer. So his contract needs to reflect that and not cave into his demands. Right now it's more of a competition of who has the highest salary than about winning in the playoffs.

  7. hopefully the kid can get out of that shitty environment and find a city with a little class to play in… honestly if the local paper printed some stuff about me like they keep doing, id hit a couple own goals and flip you all the bird on my way off the ice… im not sure how constantly treating these kids like crap is supposed to produce any other result

  8. Marner is afraid of the playoff grind. Watching him the past couple seasons, he’s completely unwilling to elevate his game the way you need to in the playoffs to have success. He’s never the first guy in the corner. Or the 2nd for that matter. He just wants to be the winger circling the offensive zone waiting for the puck to be dug free. Must be frustrating for Toronto fans. Glad I’m not rooting for them.

  9. They all have full no move clauses, if I'm Marner and they throw me under the bus I don't waive it.
They would have to move Nylander before his extension kicks in, and Nylander is historically the best playoff performer… the irony is thick

  10. What team would pay Marner 11 million per for that whinny, no effort Uber talented baby?

  11. I wish I knew what you were saying on your signoffs, missed something in the lore and now im just SOL

  12. He should get nothing more then 9 flat what has he done when it matters on a stacked team at that he needs to go for some defenders in his place

  13. everyone complaining abt the leafs “overpaying” 4 players but realistically they got around equal or maybe a bit less than they would’ve had they gone to free agency

  14. LMAO What did Raycroft do while he was in Toronto himself. Marner is still hurt this year that is a difference compared to others. high ankle sprain with his edges are not easy just sayin

  15. You also have to factor Dad into this. Dad will expect Mitch to ask top dollar. Dad will probably insist on doing that fu move.

As sad as it is to admit, maybe trading him would toughen him up, and he'd get out from under Dad's thumb. But my guess is he'd go to LA. I think he wants to live the life.

  16. No trade clause. 11 million dollars. He aint going anywhere. Plus. Who the hell would pay 11 million for a maybe 6 million dollar player. I can't see anyone lining up for that, especially with his post season play.

  17. Is nylander worth Nylander money? Is Matthews worth Matthews money? Because to was stupid to give those contacts it does not mean other gms will be that stupid.

  18. the tree has to clean up the mess Dubas created….a whack of overpaid players…. it started with JonnyT… and JonnyTs attitude has reverberated through the dressing room…. now there all high and mightys…. then dubas runs off to pittsburg and overpays carlson… pittsburg will be in a mess in a few years

  19. Marner doesn't look like a hockey player. He looks like a day time talkshow host. TML needs to let him go. Soft in the playoffs.

  20. Mariner is not the problem, the main problem is overrated Morgan Rielly who truly sucks.
