Leafs winning tonight now… because they just are
Not with a bang, but a whimper.
The first sentence was Auston is trying everything he can to try and play and that they think it’s a injury that they are trying to keep secret actually holding him out and not illness (but was dealing with one)
Both him and Nylander are completely fine all season then literally as soon as playoffs start our two best players both come down with mystery ailments and can’t play? I’m no conspiracy theorist but…

What worries me is that even if the Leafs win tonight, if he’s missing tonight it’s extremely doubtful he’s 100% for Thursday.
Hard to predict when we’ve got no idea what is going on. But to miss a do or die playoff game means you are absolutely not well.

This team is cursed
Who are we kidding, Matthews won’t play tonight, but the Leafs have their best game of the playoffs, arguably the season tonight, and push it to 6 with dominance by Woll.
Game 6 the leafs are far outplayed but the bounces start to seem to go their way and they steal that one at home.
All just to reach game 7 where the leafs inevitably choke it to Boston one last time with this core 4.

I don’t actually believe this, but a small part of me is like these guys care about 70 goals and 100 points more than winning the damn thing cause that’s what gets you paid. I’ve been hanging around my boomer bosses too much
Marchand, Swayman and Ullmark will both get sick the day after we’re eliminated.
Man that sucks. However, the team usually bands together and grits it out when Matty misses a game. Worst case, we lose as expected. Better case, we build up a little grit and resilience and get him back for game 6.
Only way they are winning is if Woll steals a game.
