I heard this on SN650 this morning, Hodgson re-retired but he’s content at what he’s done. And they called the article one of Drance’s best work.

8 points in 13 games in the AHL after such a long absence at the ripe old age of 34 is very respectable. Glad he was able to give it one last go.

He’d likely be a better option in our top 6 than Mikheyev or Suter

Best of luck to Cody. Must have taken a staggering amount of work to get back into the AHL, and he certainly proved that he could still produce.

One of the most extreme redemption arcs in recent Canucks history.

I’m happy to see he got to give it one last kick at the can before calling it quits. Wishing a happy retirement for him.

I was scared he would get called up to NSH and push the dagger through the heart of us Canucks fans.

Hes definitely still got the talent for pro hockey, sucks he doesn’t have the physical ability due to disability

So unfortunate for him with his illness but glad he was able to get positive closure on his career.

  8. What would fans think of the idea of having him come and play one exhibition game and retire as a Canuck?

He not only got screwed by his disability, but the misdiagnosis, the way management treated him, and the whole thing with his dad getting involved were really not his doing. He was chosen at the draft for his leadership in Junior, the way his teammates talked about him and the hardware he had won.

And let’s not forget his part in winning Game 8 against the Bruins!

We did it with Bure and with Kesler, so maybe just a one day of playing in the bigs would be a nice way to say goodbye on better terms.

That’s Game 8 bar down Cody Hodgson for you!

I had hoped something like this could have happened for Sven as well.
