Hopefully the first of many departures from past protocols.
Shanahan did wait and wanted Dubas to wait last year so it’s not crazy to maybe wait for all player and staff meeting to be done plus more time for review. (Also wanted Dubas contract done)

I dont want to hear anymore from Keefe. I want someone to tell me « effective immediately Sheldon Keefe has been relieved of his duties » tomorrow.
That could be your window for Keefe getting fired. Allow him to do his end of season address then discuss his firing at the management session.
If he survives beyond Thursday I’m officially worried.
Who cares what anyone says. Honestly I wish they would end all player interviews. So God damn boring.
I have my personal requirements for my continued support of this team. Keefe must be fired and significant roster changes must happen. If they don’t do these things I know they’re only in it for the merch sales and they’re not serious people
Normally coaching and management are in solidarity during these pressers – this looks like a divorce between the two. Keefe won’t be the coach anymore by Thursday.
Keefe sounded like he knew he was done in his remarks last night. Comments on “the team” or “this team” or whatever. No “us” or “we.” Shanahan probably let him know right after the game that the team would be moving on.

It was a 50/50 during OT. This whole exact team could win it all next year.. or we blow it up. I know the core four doesn’t destroy in the playoffs, but they could get it done next year with the same group. Boston fought and barely won. Something to think about.

I assume Keefe was warned last year when Dubas was canned about a first round exit this May. I think Keefe knew the second they lost that he’s done and that’s why his post game conference was a little unorthodox
Calling it now. The follow changes will be true by the end of the summer:
– Entire coaching staff fired. Leafs grab Jay Woodcroft.
– Malhotra will be the head coach in Guelph (OHL)
– Shanahan gone, Shanaplan shattered, man.
– Treliving is the new president.
– New GM. Maybe Pridham? What’s-his-name from Carolina?
