I’ve been saying for a few months that the prospect rankings have a lot of variability to them, and there are few players who are consistently ranked in the top 5 or 10. When this happens the draft order tends to be unpredictable, and excellent players fall out of the top 10.

I’m not sure who will be available when the Flames draft but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a couple of surprises. Depending on the cost it might be worthwhile for Conroy to see if he can get another pick in the ~10 range if certain players are still available.

I’m pretty happy with most of the guys in the top 11. I’ve seen our Centre depth in person a lot this year, so I’m more of a Catton supporter, but I understand the appeal in Tij. Certainly, he’s made a name for himself the past few months and changed my outlook on him. I know a lot of people are worried that he’ll go earlier, but you have to remember that a lot of teams will be coveting this year’s strong defensive prospect pool in early positions.

If Tij is there at 9-11 then you pick him up

If tij is there you pick him, end of story. Would be a fumble of preposterous proportions if they didn’t, the fan base would never forgive conroy.

There is no other choice, pick tij if available.
