  1. you idiots that want to be fake fans saying get rid of him your all mentally ill you want to get rid of the best goal scorer in the league and replace him with what Matthew's the best scorer in the league you replace the people around him to get better not get rid of your best player they need a goalie and defense and 2 more tough forwards you get rid of Matthew's and the will be in the same place as Ottawa

  2. What was his terrible illness that prevented him from playing, a hang nail? This guy is soft and entitled like the rest of them in that locker room. Auston, off you go. there is a golf course with your name waiting for you.

  3. Auston gave us such an amazing season. If we were disappointed, imagine how he must have felt. Anyone who thinks he was healthy enough to play is not a true fan. It must have been so difficult to watch those games on the sidelines knowing he could not play and contribute. And for those of you who constantly bring up money, Auston could have made a hell of a lot more playing baseball. I’m just so glad he loved hockey more. Have a great summer with family and friends Auston. And thank you for the wonderful season 💙

  4. The guy played game 7 on the third line. All you people saying hes soft or a diva are dumb. If he was a diva or had a big ego do you honestly think hed be on the third line playing limited minutes? He looks like hes lost 15 pounds

  5. Auston where do i even begin as much as i like you and think you are our best player i cant make an argument that you are captain ready. Youve showed great leadership this season however you have yet to do so in the post season you had a great game 2 but didnt do much after that ik you were injured and sick however so were other players and at 13 mill ive got tbh we need more great season by you 69 goals is good and worth the money in the season but you havent lived up to your 13 mill contract in the post season

  6. Watch, now that the series is over, Auston will miraculously recover from this "mystery illness" and be out on the golf course laughing at MLSE and the fans.

  7. Still hungover, they say it takes at least 2 to 3 weeks to recover from one of Biebers parties , next week he'll be ready.

  8. These 3-5 minute end of season media availabilities are dissapointing, whenever I watched another teams player do them its 8-10, sometimes up to 15 minutes.

  9. Oh Papi, how you deserved a better fate. Best goal scorer in the league. Gonna miss watching you play, but to next season. Here's praying it ACTUALLY is our year 🩵🩵🩵 You'll forever be MY captain. My hero, and my home.

  10. AM 34 is the greatest goal scorer of this generation. Unfortunate that he got sick. Despite the criticism, he played his most complete playoff games before the illness, defensively and offensively. The burden of captaincy must be placed on his shoulders. He is the best player on the team and will lead. A 70 goals a season goal scorer comes once in a generation. AM34 can hit 70 next season. He is the future.

  11. So is has he recovered from the illness, and nows its just a physical injury from the weird hit?

  12. This guy still looks like death warmed over and there's no way they were beating the Panthers so I'm glad they can all take time to heal now before next season

  13. Highest paid player and for 8 years a dud when it counts. Gets the sniffles and doesnt play when others play with punctured lungs, punctured sternums, torn ACL's – too soft. Deal him to Utah.

  14. I've got no criticism for Matthews, he played fantastically well – even in game 7 when you could tell he wasn't feeling good at all. Hope you feel better soon, bud.

  15. I'm surprised he could make it to his locker!! He's a regular season star and a playoff BUM! He's stealing money.

  16. This kid here is an absolute treat to have on our Toronto Maple Leafs. The future captain and a great person to go with all the talent. Another unfortunate early exit in the playoffs but it wasn't without this guy giving it his all. Thanks for a great regular season. I know eventually Matthews will lead this team to glory.

  17. 69 Goals …and the youtube comments still blame Auston …. Yall Need To STFU …go touch a girl…..if you can

  18. Austin Matthews career PO points 47 and a +2…..Marner 50 and a +10….yup Marner's the problem

  19. Matthews and Nylander are the present and future. Build around them with Domi, Benny and the other tough players. Everyone else should not be safe.

  20. It's sucks that the Leafs lost but they didn't go down without a fight……When game 7 goes into overtime anything can happen.

  21. He needs to go to an organization, city, and fan base who will appreciate his talents and commitment you could tell he was hurt and still had a positive impact

  22. so glad to have him on the Leafs he's a legend already can't wait till he and the boys finally break through and ill be here for it.

  23. Just outta curiosity, if you are a leafs fan, now that you guys are out, who are you supporting between Nucks and Oilers? Or none?

  24. There was only two, real major issues that the Leafs encountered.. 1. Our Lack of Team defense was an issue in the first few games vs Bruins.. (that is a coaching issue) he has not been able to get this team to play proper defense the entire time he has been here.. That difference, could have gotten us one or two more games before our back was to the wall.. This is a FACT…… 2, Our Powerplay.. Not adjusting our powerplay to an entirely new zone entry and attack is again ( COACHING )… This team should have raced to the blue line with speed and chased a dump in,,,, then force point shots while crashing the net… They failed to adjust and we missed out on maybe, 15 more goals which would have ended this series… In Every other area, the Leafs matched or exceeded Bruins play… How do we know this –(((we went to game Seven OT)))… DEFENSE & A PP ADJUSTMENT was the difference…. OVERTIME IN GAME SEVEN…. Only because we played two very bad defensive games!! Thats what killed us and that is COACHING… No One player could change that… Period This Team Is Close.. THis is NOT AN EASY DIVISON.. The Finals have come from our division every season for how Long????? TEAM DEFENSE would have been the difference the entire time but weve never seen it until the last 3 games this series!!! FINALLY THE LEAFS PLAYED SOLID TEAM DEFENSE…. WE SEEN IT MATTERS but then again (coaching failed to adjust the PP).. that is your difference Folks.
