Hey Gil – When I heard this news I thought this was great considering when Varly was hurt this past season Sorokin was forced to play every game because Ken Appleby was the goalie who was called up. Obviously the organization had no confidence in Appleby or in Skarek or Tikkanen and so this move was 100 % needed. I'm hoping that with a healthy competition for the goal it will push Sorokin to get back to his previous habits and play and also it will help keep Varly on his toes to remain steady and if a trade is presented to move Semyon they are good in the crease to make this team better and younger.

HO HUM. Yeah goalie is a need for isles louzer. You have lennox rotting in echl instead of getting ahl experience and sign a has been never will be goalie blocking lennox from ahl. And the big problem for this organization? Such a backassward approach to things is why this franchise is set up for big time failure led by an over the hill gm who sucks at drafting/development. I voted for Horvat because Barzal would not have had the points he did without Horvat. I like Horvat’s leadership and his points contribution was notable. I also believe he should wear the C.

If anything happens to Sorokin, or Varlamov, HOGBERG WILL COME IN HANDY. You just answered my next question for me, Gil The Islanders didn't trust Ken Appleby to come thru. I think it should be Noah Dobson, or Matthew Barzal. Who put on a show during the All Star Competition. I always said Barzy reminded me of Trots when he's on his game. I guess I'm a glass completely empty kind of guy, because I see this signing as an indication of how pathetic our prospect pool is. I would have ZERO confidence calling his guy up. I would put Roy back in goal before this guy. Marcus must have married one of Yoda's grandchildren to get this contract.
