  1. Because of the No Move Clause Marner has we are stuck with him for 1 more season. We will not be able to get anything for him because of that Clause. If we buy him out we would still have to pay him 5.25 million over 2 years instead of 11 million for 1 year which wouldn't help us much. We are best to let him walk after next season. I doubt he will take a pay cut to stay in Toronto. Bottom line is Leafs can't trade him without his permission so we will get nothing in return. Marner will walk after next season. The way I look at it is how much is a 26 goal scorer worth? Not 11 million. Maybe 4 million.

  2. What team wants a guy who won't be there in the playoffs when you really need him?? He's pointless…. what do I give the leafs for that?? A 3rd?

  3. honestly they wont trade him. they just need a good goaltender in net. woll is our guy. i am not sure his health will be good but he needs to stay healthy then we should be fine next playoffs.

  4. Can't trade Marner, he has a No Movement Clause. Stuck with his salary for 1 more years. It is just like the Bruin are stuck with Coyle for 2 more years.

  5. If the Leafs trade Marner, I don't think Leaf fans will be happy with the return. If he agrees to a trade, he will only go to a team that he approves. He's UFA in 1 year so he'd be pretty much be a rental, he has a history of not showing up in the playoffs, and he has a huge cap hit for that one year. Nobody is giving up good young players with term for a pending UFA with a huge cap hit

  6. I absolutely cannot stand Marner . But in all fairness, as a forward, was Pasta his man or was he Reilly’s? I guess we’d have to know what defensive system the Leafs utilize to know that. Zone? Man on man? As a forward/winger, is Marner supposed to be on the opposing dman and allow the defense and center man to take opposing forecheckers? If Marner stays with Pasta, would that put him out of position and leave the wall and point vacated for opposing dman to be left wide open? Can’t have all your forwards collapse down low with your dmen.

I’m asking this as I genuinely do not know. Maybe the answer is Marner was supposed to stay with him and allow teammates to adjust. You just don’t often expect your wingers to be primarily responsible to defending that first forechecker as your dmen should be back further. These types of things aren’t discussed enough imo and explained to the average hockey fan.

  7. Not Marners fault?? It's his man, he was puck watching and let HIS MAN fly by with ease and score. Your so very wrong.

  8. Leafs drove kessel to pens who won a cup
Leafs drove kadri to avs who won a cup
Leafs drivr marnwr to ____ and will win a cup

  9. Ahh, the golden calf of Soy Leafs failures: Mitch Marner. This one is crazy to me. How do you have so much skill with the hockey puck but you have marbles hanging in between your legs?? If your skill doesn't match your will that mean one thing to me=🐔🐓🐱😿 In the words of Project Pat- "buck buck, chicken chicken, buck buck, chicken………"

  10. I like sdpns analysis, i dont think willys at fault, hes supposed to be high, covering zacha there. Rielly could have been back way earlier and more aggressive. Marner… yeah dont love it. But just a play that worked out well for boston

  11. I would say Ottawa or Detroit would be the best fit. I think in reality Pittsburgh or Boston or Capitals. I think the return is going to be a lot lower than what the fan want

  12. What GM in their right mind would trade with the leafs. Their players are over paid, over rated and under perform in the playoffs.

Scotty Bowman said the regular season is preseason to the playoffs. The Leaf organization sill doesn't get it.

  13. Marner ,Matthews and nylander and Tavares deserve better they are such good players.Toronto needs to rebuild ,they’re out of time anyway to win a Stanley cup a lot of new rebuilt young teams are on the rise,New jersey,Detroit, buffalo,Ottawa and Montreal
