Leafs fan here (yes, a miserable one)… and as such, I dislike Boston with a passion, but that call was total garbage. It should be a holding call on Ekblad and no call whatsoever on Boston. At worst, maybe one each, but just goalie interference? Un-f’ing-believable.

Casual Vancouver Canucks fan reporting in to say that this was not a good-looking call in the slightest. I mean, okay, I can MAYBE see goaltender interference on account of the collision at the end, but there should AT LEAST have been an offsetting holding call on Ekblad there!

What a ridiculous call. Florida player shoved Boston player into the goalie. Definitely a fixed game and series. I feel Sorry for the Boston Bruins on getting screwed in this game and series.
AS A BRUINS FAN, this call was horrible. But with the amount of SOG and TOA they had, this doesn’t even matter. I couldn’t believe they made it past the Leafs because they did the same thing in that series for a few games. How the fuck are you going to be in the Stanley Cup playoffs and get 3 shots on net after 20 minutes of play? On several different occasions? Florida defense playing incredible? Maybe. But also maybe trying to show some sort of hunger to win from the Bruins? I’m really not seeing that at all, and I won’t be devastated when they get sent home. They might be the underdog but they were 4-0 against the panthers in the regular season, and they should have some sort of chip on their shoulder from last year. Horrible call but way worse effort.
Edit: throwing shit on the ice is crazy and the individuals doing that should be barred from entering TD garden.

Don't like the Bruins, but this is an insane call. Of course the Boston fans would throw shit on the ice though. I'd be upset too, but throwing stuff on the ice is just not it. Also booing your players is a classic Boston move.

Was a bad call. But not as big a deal given the score and shots on goal. Doesn’t feel like it would have made a difference. I think the fans were just mad at that point (they booed Boston off the ice after the second after all) and looking for something to take their frustration out on.
I get why the ref made the call based on what he may have thought happened, but yah, was not the right call.

The Bruins whining about a missed call is rich, lol. And let’s be honest, this isn’t the first time the Bruins tried to run and injure a goalie in the playoffs. They do it every year. Looks like Ekblad is trying to minimize the contact between them with his left arm.
I despise both of these teams but I’m 100% fine with this call. Bruins need to stop trying to injure goalies to gain an advantage in a series. How many goalies have they taken out in recent years?
As a fan of neither team, it should have been 4 on 4 hockey, with holding on the Panthers and goalie interference on the Bruins being the calls. With the Boston fans throwing stuff on the ice, it could have been whistled for a delay of game penalty with Florida being on the power play.
