@Canucks de Vancouver

    If he doesn’t win the Norris it’s rigged simple as that. I know playoffs don’t count, but he’s the best defensemen in the league this year.

    I personally don’t think Myers and Soucy did well against McDavid and Draisaitl at all. They made costly mistakes and were bogged down in the defensive zone a lot. Hopefully we make adjustments, and maybe play Hughes against that line. I think it’s worth it to waste Hughes’ minutes against this line if it gives us a chance to nullify the McDavid line.

    How many times has Quinn been slew footed so far?

    I was just happy seeing him in the first game this series where he wasn’t playing hot potato every time he had the puck in his own defensive zone

  5. It was beast mode McDavid but there’s no way he’s playing 30 mins a night before overtime for the entire series. One line team. Canucks can win it for sure.

    Was not a fan of that Soucy pinch that led to a breakaway goal.

    There were a lot of encouraging signs in that game despite the loss. Despite McDrai putting up 4 points each and playing 30 minutes, they still barely squeaked out a win in OT against our third goalie. I have to admit I thought the Oilers would be dominating a lot more than they are. We can absolutely win this series. Hopefully they will learn from the mistakes (especially Soucy throwing himself out of position to make a flashy, needless hit) and apply them going forward.

    The Oilers are completely nuts with how they run their team. Those 3 players were on the ice for nearly half the freaking game. That is definitely not sustainable long term. A few times they looked kinda shook on the bench. From the physical play or fatigue. Even if they beat the Canucks I don’t see how pushing those players to the absolute limit is a good idea.

    They are essentially a 1 line team. The Canucks need to make those 3 pay any time they’re on the ice.

    Probably because hughes was the only D man that didn’t do the ‘reverse it behind the net into turn it over along the boards’ strategy that every other d man was spamming. I’ve never seen us so lost in our own zone before it was painful to watch

    We need to hit their big 2 any chance they get. Long series we might slow them down a tad.

    Is there something they can do against that powerplay? Standing around letting them do their thing seems like it’s not working

    Mcdavid got a point on every goal. I don’t think myers/soucy is a good fit to shut him down. I’d rather have zaddy and Cole (yes he’s scored on us) or huggy and hronek. At least Z will crush him if he gets the chance
