I would like to see the Marner trade happen and maybe flip him at the trade deadline for more assets. I’ve never been a fan of Huberjunk and would like to see a trade for PLD. I hope Cgy makes a splash at the draft. I want them to select the best player then can.
Flames have lots of cap Space to weaponize. No need to move up but need to add another top 10 pick. Ottawa & Jersey are teams that may be dance partners to extract that extra top 10 pick. Markstrom & weaponizing cap space may be the ticket. Then wait for opportunity with a boatload of cap space, can score them a younger RFA player not fitting with a cap strapped team. Lots of options. Not keen on Marner deal. Rather see Markstrom in a deal to Ottawa or Jersey.
If calgary goes for mitch marner will cheer for Edmonton . For ever.
Calgary got kicked in the nuts from 2 players and a know it all coach sutter. And he shit his pants 👖 too.
Here are the topics for the Flames in this offseason
1) The Draft they could move up in the draft to get the player they want. The real question is should the draft Tij Iginla? That could be the big thing in this year draft, but they will be getting even if they stay at 9.
2) This should be looking at trading Markstrom this offseason. There are lots of trade where he can go. But he will have the last word on where he goes. I say NJ or Ottawa. But the Flames should get a good deal for him. I say if they trade him at draft and he get traded to NJ then they could get another 1 round pick at 10.
3) Maner trade to Flames. I would like that, but we still don't know which direction the Flames are going. Some say rebuild, but it sound like a retool. If they get him that will mean they are in a retool. Will it happened that he could be traded to Flames will see.
4) As for Hubedreau. It is going to hard to trade him. The thing people that don't watch Flames and him is that they don't understand that he is not a player that he was in that one season in Florida, He is play maker, which mean his not a goal scorer. He get the points in his assets. You need to start to do your homework , by looking at his stats during his time. He need linemate that can score lots of goals. He would be better if Johnny Gaurdreau was still here. But that why Conory has say he need to find a player to play with Hubedreau. That why it is going be hard to traded him. The team he could be traded is a team that he could fix in. Also he has a no trade Clause. So he also would have to say he wants out. That also makes it hard to traded him. He will not be traded anytime soon.
