What a beauty
McDavid wasn’t whining about it. I love the physical play in these playoffs. Hopefully the winning cup team is a physical team that brings back a lot of roster construction around physicality.

Anyone who watches McDavid play more than the 2 games he plays vs your team a season can tell ya the league isn’t protecting him. Dude takes way more cheap stuff then your average player literally just to slow him down that isn’t called. If this play happened between whistles not at the end of the game it’s probably only 2 mins but why in the f are doing something that stupid after you won? You are putting yourself in a position to be suspended.

I dunno about “protecting investment” comment. I have no skin in this series, but that cross check to McDavids face sure looked suspension worthy to me. I called one game and thats what he got. Telling me Reilly’s was worse on the Ottawa player in the empty net gate? He got 5. Was also after the game ended similar to this.
Is that the stitches close to his left eye as a result of the Hyman cross check to his face? 👀

I agree with Zadorov… Every tough player should be able to cross check any superstar player in the face after the final whistle. You hope they’re injured and the series could really swing in your favour. It’s the best time to do it because even if you’re given 2 minute penalty, who cares? The game is done

Personally love how he doesn’t own his responsibility in causing the suspension by cross checking a defenceless player from behind, causing Soucy to hit em in the face and get suspended. Without that, it’s a cross check to the best and no suspension, maybe don’t go 2 on 1 in scrums after, especially from behind?

I liked him a while back but when I heard him on Spittin’ Chiclets it sealed the deal. Wish he was on the Kings.
If they were really trying to protect their investment, both Soucy and Zadorov would have gotten a game for throwing equally as forceful crosschecks at the exact same moment.
The 1 game for Soucy was light, and it was only given because it would have looked fucking terrible to do nothing about it. It’s the least the NHL could have done, and that’s what they chose.
It’s amazing how many teams felt this wasn’t the kinda guy their roster needed.
