What people are watching in slow motion happened in a split second during the game. Looks like Bennett could have been just trying to hit his shoulder. This is so strange result, Bennet was controlling puck right before the hit and Marchand was coming to late hit, Bennet reverse hit and caused injury to Marchand who turned his back right before hitting. Maybe he tried to avoid collision? Didn't expect Bennet hit back.
Usually I don't comment on this but if he did that he would have gotten suspended. He elbowed Marchand
The one they show there is from the angle where the hit looks good but the other one they show Bennett ĺooks like he punches or elbows him in the chest.

Marchand plays dirty and gets away with it. This time he took a "lick" from Bennett. I remember a couple of seasons ago when he was licking players face just to tick'em off. Florida in 5 !!! 🙂

Marchand lined him up for a hit. Bennett stood his ground. Marchand went down and slid elbow first into the boards. End of story. No penalty.
I remember Mark Messier playing the finals for NY Rangers against the Canucks 1994. Messier elbowed a Vancouver player in the head, it was one of the dirtiest hit I've seen in hockey.
