I try to think of prospects as having an optimistic, pessimistic, and realistic projection into the NHL. I think a realistic projection for Iginla is a 50~60 point player, with a competitive edge. Max Domi would be a different player but would not be a bad comparable.
I think one of the big things going for Iginla is, like Tkachuk and Domi, he will likely be more mentally prepared for the NHL; and he has a support system more able to help him. Jarome is far more likely to be able to help him manage the challenges than the average father, and his mother and family has seen everything before.
