But de Dallas OT refusé – Tough Call Review

  1. Looks like a good goal compared to the Bruins vs Panthers when a Panther checked a Bruin into the goaltender and then shot the puck in for a goal. WTF is going on with refereeing!

  2. When you have "NHL Darlings" on your team, the league/refs will throw you multiple bones. AKA: this play/call.

  3. #8 on the avs clearly shoves his body into the stars forward. Refs obviously didn’t want to end the Avs season with this goal but they couldn’t stop the inevitable

  4. I am going to be the only guy that says this, but Dallas’s skate is clearly in Georgie’s stick. He drags his stick which pushes Georgiev to the right. If this is legal outside the white paint constantly, and I mean constantly, push around the stick of the goaltender. Put your stick on it, your skates on it, and coach your guys to continusoulsy harass the goalies stick. Get enforces to beat the crap out of any defenseman who tries to stop it. It would become goaltender interference in a hurry.

  5. It was a goal. The refereeing in some of these series this year has been bad. And those that be in Toronto didn't want to overturn the ref to save face. Thankfully Dallas still pulled it off or else had Colorado gone on to win the series it would have been a joke.

  6. I think it was a goal for sure but, I am glad it happened the way it did. Avs fans would have blamed the L on bad reffing and and called Duchene a cheater for goalie interference. Now they can't because the Stars beat them twice in one game and Duchene got his redemption. I am super glad things turned out the way they did.

  7. This was a good goal. The cowards in Toronto didnt want the series to end like this so they disallowed it. Pathetic.

  8. As a 20+ year long Oilers fan i can say this, i've seen WAY more goalie contact be called a good goal then this slight bump. It should have been a reversed call after the replay, Dallas got robbed by the ref. But way to go Dallas for winning anyway.

  9. More like referee interference. Everyone saw it and everyone agrees it should've counted, but they still won so I guess it doesn't matter. Also this is probably the worst call in NHL history. IMO

  10. Well, if the commentators are any indication the networks and NHL REALL REALLY wanted McKinnon and Co to win that series. Disallowing what, to everybody else, appears to be an OBVIOUS goal, in overtime, no less, also appears to me to be a blatant attempt to help the Avs win the game.
The refs screwed the stars at least 3 times in that game. First, early in the first period Makar shoots the puck over the glass, and even the expression on his face said so because he knew it and…. no call. The Stars shouldve been on the PP about 2 minutes into the game…… cant have that if we want the Avs to win…. so…. no call.
Then they called a BS penalty on the Stars, which even the commentators were saying "There's not much there" like they couldnt believe that was a penalty, and the avs scored on the ensuing power play. Then they disallowed the goal in OT. Those things might not seem like much but those power plays can be huge, as in outcome influencingly huge.
The Stars just got lucky and beat the refs attempts as well as the Avs. Note the way McKinnon flops to the ice to try and draw a call as Duchene scores the game winner…… and looking at the ref in disblief as if to say "Do your bloody job mate, its not supposed to end like this"
    I rest my case.
I love hockey but I no longer have any illusions about whether or not its legit. That was a blatant attemp to fix the game, Cuz, gambling profits.

  11. I bet if you looked at all the footage from the season, you'd find at least 100 goals that were pretty much identicle. Whether or not they are allowed to stand depends on gambling odds, etc and/or how and who they are trying to manipulate the standings for.

  12. Agree! The NHL just arbitrarily decided that they didn't want to end a game on a reply —- thus fully disregarded their rules. Especially of the call was going to go against the home ice crowd. In my opinion, when it's that close of a play, you call it a goal and then see if replay overturns the goal. In this case the Ref, for whatever reason (perhaps from his position?) frantically waved the goal off in error!
