  1. Florida plays a different style of game. If the Rangers want to play into Florida’s style, they will lose every time. Panthers are a black belt team at Suffocation Hockey. NYR need to open up the game in the middle and stay off the boards. You can’t beat FL in the boards

  2. Stop with the Rempe talk … the Panthers have a complete team of guys that would beat the hell out of that clown.

  3. The Panthers lost two games, almost three, to the Bruins, whom just so happen to be the weakest they’ve been in a decade. So, critical thought dictates that following: if they lost two to a weak version of Boston, then the Panthers will lose at least three to the Oilers or Dallas. Which means can the Panthers win seven in the finals? I don’t see it.

  4. This team has to stop thinking it could always just come back. There's no urgency in the first 40 minutes of their hockey game. This is the Florida Panthers they're going to chew you up and spit you out if you let them play their game. Rangers need to wake up. And I do believe number 73 needs to be out there give them 10 minutes. If he lays out one of their big guys it's worth the penalty

  5. Rempe should have been in the lineup game 1 to set the tone for the series, they walked all over them, I love chytl but it looks like he’s playing to cautiously

  6. It just blows my mind that they had a week off and came out flat as a pancake. They should've come out of the gates with their hair on fire. If they don't raise their level of play this series will be over in 4 games.

  7. Bruins had more high danger chances too. How that work out. 14 minutes without a shot ain’t gonna get it done.

  8. Boomer I'm going to disagree with you on the panerin comment the first call was his fault he was playing around with the puck in the offensive zone trying to look for a perfect pass any coughed it up that was on him

  9. It's just one game. There was a lot to be worried about in the game. But also the Rangers had higher expected goals for the game and one more high danger chance. Two breakaways and two posts. So they had chances. The Panthers suffocated them defensively for at least half the game, but also didn't look that impressive offensively. The Rangers could have tied the game up or even been up in the game, but the bounces definitely did not go their way. It wasn't good, and they didn't play with the needed energy, but there were positive chances too. Florida was not dominant and this is just 1 game.

  10. SoFlo in the house. Panthers will gladly play any style of hockey that the Rangers want to play. Go Panthers

  11. No reason why Rempe should not have been in over Jimmy Vesey. You had Mark Messier who may I remind you is a 6x stanley cup champion, saying that Rempe should be in the lineup during intermission. Now the twitter GM/coaches saying that Rempe provides nothing for the team are clearly out of it and have not paid attention. Mikkola taking a run at Filip Chytil with 3 seconds left in the 3rd period who is playing in just his 2nd game back from a severe concussion injury should convince laviolette to put Rempe in the lineup. If that doesn't convince Lavi then Lomberg, Tkachuk, and Bennett taking runs and throwing big hits on the Rangers all night last night should. I know Rempe isn't a top 6 forward or a point per game player but he brings an energy to this team that they so desperately needed in that game last night. The fact the most energy the team got last night was because of a disallowed goal should speak high enough volume. PUT REMPE IN!

  12. The Rangers had offensive surges and chances in the O zone and simply couldn't capitalize. Couldn't agree more about the camera broadcast, it's horrible, the ice level camera where you can't see the ice or the puck is useless, and the constant attempts at close ups is simply of no value to any fan trying to watch the game. They do this football when every play ends they start switching between camera close ups of as many people as they can, like count the nose hair close ups, which is disgusting in its own right, and flash back to the line of scrimmage a second before the snap, they try that in hockey and it's a total train wreck. When they are too close to the ice in their zoom also, you can get seasick trying follow this cameraman who obviously can't follow the puck. The people involved obviously have no comprehension or understanding of watching a NHL game and it's just ridiculous…

  13. He doesn’t need to fight and 4.5 min is more of a presence than the 6-7 min kakko and brozinski and vesey get. They don’t have any edgy players besides trouba. Barclay goodrow can handle his own but by no means is he a player I would be worried about when going into corner for a puck. Out of their top 9 I can’t think of one guy who brings the heat. Maybe Kreider here and there but non of them are getting in anyone’s face or laying hits on the d men to wear them down.

  14. Roslavic and Wenneburg are soft players who are the product of the salary cap. My fear was eventually the Columbus Duo would rear their ugly heads eventually in the playoffs. Goodrow should replace Wenneburg takes his spot on the 4th line and bench Roslavic who is nothing more than a diva on skates!

  15. The Ranger's will lose. How do know, because the sports betting apps tell me they will. The sooner you realize this, the more money you will save

  16. 12-13 minute stretches without a SOG is not a good sign. That being said this was a 1-0 game due to a soft goal Igor let up and then we deflect a puck in our own net. Hit 2 posts so although rangers were lacking energy they were right there. Vesey, trouba, Gustaffson, and Kaako need to do more. Rempe is an option but you got to play the guy regularly. what good is putting him out for 4 mins?? I think Zac Jones deserves a chance. Fox doesn't seem right also. gotta get ugly in this series. pucks to the net and rebounds. hopefully they can make the adjustments. LGR!!

  17. Rangers had a handful of grade A chances (besides the breakaways) where they missed the net or hit the post or didn't get all of the puck.

Need to finish better in these types of games

  18. Miscues broken passes and puck turnovers. Lack of attention to detail. Looked like last year.

  19. Only good news, they could barely beat us when we were at our worst. Own goal and empty net… rangers just need to stop with these slow starts…

  20. The energy wasn't "not there"….They are playing a better team. lets lay it out here…the first round they played a terrible Caps team, in fact the worst playoff team in the HISTORY OF THE SPORT by the numbers. Carolina was the better team in the second round 5 on 5 for large parts of that series, as soon as the Rangers PP opportunities dwindled so did the rangers winning games. From the 3rd period of game 3 including OT (rangers won on PP goal in double OT) , all of game 4, all of game 5 and the first 2 periods of game 6 the rangers were outplayed consecutively. translation….2-3 PP's against a legit playoff team equals a loss for the rangers…..They need 5+ PP opportunities just hang with playoff teams, its been like that all year.

  21. "Florida has won 60 percent of the faceoffs" then proceed to miss at least 4 defensive zone faceoffs due to cut aways to crowd shots or Emily Kaplan . I pledge to get Sportsnet somehow by next season before I do something that lands me in jail.

  22. Panarin is a joke in the tight checking playoffs. Along with Mika and Kreider. All these guys like space. Panthers in 5.

  23. I love fans screaming for Rempe.. yea, he can go out and be an enforcer…. but he can also go out there get out of position and give the cats an extra opportunity

  24. The Rangers culture since day 1 (way back in 1926) has always been NOT to have an overall physical team and when the playoffs rolls along that weakness comes and knocks them off time & time again. Last nite was proof again & when you have players like Kakko, Vesey, Wennberg, who we know are far from physical but also not very good players this series will be over in 4, max 5.

  25. 2 years ago the Rangers won the first 2 games at home in the ECF and took a 2 goal lead in Tampa before losing that game and the next 3. So, losing game 1 at home is not the end of the world.
BTW, Florida lost its game 1 against Boston badly and still won the series in 6.
In 1994, Rangers lost the first game at MSG against New Jersey in the ECF and the first game of the finals against Vancouver at home again. But in both instances they won game 2 in a convincing matter and yet both series went to the limit anyway.
So, this is not the time to panic as this first game against Florida could have gone the other way if 1) the Rangers had started in time (bad habit they have) and 2) they had buried one or 2 of their scoring chances.

There is only one thing that I'm worried about with Florida and it's the grit factor.
It's the only thing but it's a big one. 🙁
We'll know what the Rangers are made of for sure in this series. Their resolve will be tested.

  26. Chytil is just a bad idea. Yes he is a great player, yes we need him back, but this is the conference finals. How is a guy who hasn't played all year gonna come in and effectively compete against a team that has made it this far? It's not fair to him or to the players on his line. It just doesn't make any sense to me

  27. All the talk about players not stepping it up last night. How about the fact that the Panthers shut them down for the most part with relentless pressures. Maybe the reality is that FLA did not allow them to really get set. Instead of whining about how bad NY played, maybe praise FLA for their style of play. JMO.

  28. 1-The puck spent to much time in the Ranger zone
2-shots on goal caught up with Igor
3-several days off showed the Rangers were lackluster
    4-Rangers big 4 didn’t show up
5-Rempe needs to be on the ice

  29. I’d rather loose game 1 then game 7… wounded today, yea a little bit… we all know the FLA is a force… warrior time for 60 every game!
