  1. Comparing IIHF hockey to the NHL playoffs is comparing apples to oranges. Far worse competition and much less physical. I bet Marner would have looked elite lmao

  2. The Leafs NEVER should have acquired John Tavares … doing so put a HUGE kibosh on a masterful rebuilding process that the Hockey Gods favored, created a salary cap juggernaut and cost the franchise a Stanley Cup victory.

  3. Bigger ice which creates more room, weaker competition, not saying much. Hope it creates some interest in him if he is willing to move.

  4. I think everyone of the Leafs were stifled by set plays by Keefe, for too long.
A more free flowing system would help all of them and find some magic by allowing some individuality on the Offence , while maintaining a tight defence.

  5. He was playing against much lesser players….and not teams filled with NHL rosters… i DO like JT, but would not use this competition as a marker for saying he is back….i hope he proves me wrong tho…..

  6. Kampf is overpaid, but not by much. Doesn't complain, while playing solid D, finishes his checks & is reliable. He's capable of 20-30 points assuming he's playing with slightly better players than Reaves or Gregor.

He was constantly buried in D-zone starts, but produced 19 pts inspite of that impediment.

He was the 2nd line C for Czechia, so is he really just a 4th liner, or is he capable of more? I think he's got more up-side.

  7. So you have to remember … The worlds have bigger ice , that bodes well for slower players theres more room for him to get up to speed and gives him more time to think. Things arnt as clogged up. You cant look at this and assume hes going to do this next season its a different animal on NHL ice youre missing super important facts,

  8. Tavares looks great because of the larger ice surface with minimal hitting. Old legs look young travelling W/E on larger rink than N/S smaller rink. He's a 3rd/4th line centre that's not physical. Just what the Leafs don't need.

  9. JT playing well at the Worlds is irrelevant. His playoffs were a month ago. That's when he needed to rewind the clock and play well. His Worlds play will NOT carry over into next season. Anyone who thinks it will is the same person who has had their buried in the sand over the past 8 seasons thinking we should just keeping running it back cause eventually it'll be different.
