  1. Hate is pretty tame these days. My introduction to hockey was watching the Broad Street Bullies play the Big Bad Bruins in the 1970s. Ltir? Oh dear

  2. Let me help you out with Colorado. Psst…It's the broadcasters!… 😃 …I actually don't have anything against the team itself. But compared to watching Mork Moozier whine about penalties real and perceived, a root canal would be a morale boost. The whole staff, Rycroft, Liles, even hearing ALAAAAN ROOOACH in the background on the PA is just a crime against hockey. I lived in Denver when the Avs came to town, and it was fun for awhile. I still watch the YT short of Mike Haynes' hilarious call of the Gilmore-Sakic fight… 🤣 …But somewhere along the line they went off the homerist deep end to join the Penguins and Bruins, and I left that party…There are going to be some players who get preferential treatment because the NHL sees them as stars, i.e., cash cows. Once upon a time if you brushed Sidney Crosby's sweater it was an automatic five-minute major, and NBC plastered him all over the screen every damn weekend. Overexposure and a culture of idol worship ain't gonna win you many friends…Meruelo can't win at this point. The team was in a bunker, 120 yards out from the green, stuck behind a massive palo verde tree when he bought them. At least he got the Yotes onto the fairway, but everybody is pissed at him because he didn't make par. And yes, I see a very direct correlation between the Nordiques and Avalanche, and the Coyotes and the new Water Bottles in Utah…Yeah, there are some bad actors, on teams with bad actor cultures, but sometimes it's all in the presentation…

  3. Marchand is the most suspended player in NHL history, hard to imagine having any respect for a team that names him as their captain. He's almost ended the careers of a couple players. Seems only old heads cheer for Boston unless you live on the east coast these days.

  4. When Atlanta is awarded a franchise, they'll be a villain. Honestly, I hope the franchise plays into that.

  5. Seeing your video title, I could not believe how the Flames were not on that board. Then I realized this was (mostly) about playoff teams. As you were…

  6. From Calgary to Florida (with improvement) how in the flying aces is Tkachuk not on this list under Florida?!?!

Also weird that Benny also leaving Calgary to Florida became a dirty player when he was a timid player on the Flames.

  7. Jamie Benn man, might be tied my least favourite player alongside Trouba.

Last year when he cross checked Stone, got kicked out, left the rink while the game was still going on, dodged media and left it to him teammates to face the music. All while being the captain…and then next day says it was unfortunate how he tripped on Stone.

Taking zero ownership / responsibility. That's a shit captain right there.

  8. Honestly the tipping point for me with the Hawks was that press conference were the Hawks owner began to "discuss" with the reporters because they had the nervers to ask about KB

  9. I have nothing really against the remaining teams left in the playoffs, but Benn is making the Stars very hard to root for. dirty dirty player

  10. Hatred for Toronto, in addition to media coverage and the fanbase, neither of which are the team's fault, is also generational.

People nowadays hate Toronto… just because. Their dad raised them to hate them because their grandpa did the same, but back when the grandpa was young, Toronto was a threat.

Plus, it could be simple spite for the nation's largest city. I bet that (and the previous reason) is why baseball fans unanimously hate the Yankees.

  11. My top 7 villains
    7. Scheifele Winnipeg
    6. Maroon Boston
    5. Swayman Boston
    4. Marchand Boston
    3. Tkachuk Ottawa
    2. Marner Toronto
    1. Bettman NHL

  12. Updated list of Top 7 villains
    7. Scheifele Winnipeg
    6. The Calgary Fanbase
    5. Tkachuk Ottawa
    4. Don Sweeney Boston
    3. Marchand Boston
    2. Marner Toronto
    1. Shanahan Toronto

  13. As a Vegas fan I accept and understand the villain status. It is deserved and I’ve not loved all the things the organization has done especially Fluery. But ownership got it done and brought a chip to Vegas a city of 2.2 million that had nothing to cheer for prior to VGK.

  14. Yeah, it must've been infuriating for Nordiques fans to see their team win the cup right after re-locating, but let's be real: the main reason the Avs won that year was Roy. I seriously doubt that the Canadians trade Roy to the Nordiques…

  15. Stars: Jamie Benn is the obvious choice. I don't like him even as a neutral fan. 😂
Bruins: Meh, Marchand is not doing it for me lately. He is a mid tier bully that can be easily ignored. Since there are no big boys behind him, he lost all his "teeth".
Flyers: Meh, doesn't get the blood pumping.
Blackhawks: Absolutely the organization is the problem. What they did was so egregious that I would have disqualified them from the entire Bedard draft. The league sent a signal that winning the cup is more important than making sure no lives are destroyed in the process. The reason why the disdain is fading slowly is because the organization has not been punished in any meaningful way that would discourage the same behavior in the future.
Tampa: Yep, Kucherov hands down. Acting smug goes a long way.
Rangers: Surprisingly, Trouba as well for me. It's just unnecessarily dangerous what he does. Do we have to get to a point where someone ends in a wheelchair?
Leafs: I don't get the hate at all.
Coyotes: For me it was more about Betman than anything else. Just let it die. The organization also didn't want to really rise from the ashes for the longest while. (Also see the Sabres on the organization front.)
    🧡💛🧡

  16. Jamie Benn is the one EVERYONE hates on Dallas and people hate Dallas cause they constantly dive and rarely get called on embellishment for it.

  17. Conner Mcdavid does need to keep better control of his stick. He’s drawn so many high sticking penalties these playoffs, not even mentioning the ones that weren’t called.
