Meanwhile, Blues signed a lesser goalie for 6 years at 6 mil. Binnington was great but has shown himself to be mediocre goalie since. This makes Armstrong look foolish

Markstrom at 6 last summer and trading demko for a nice return would’ve been preferable IMO

You never know about goalies look at Carter Hart but at least young player .
They'll get value from this, good deal.
Players are all getting payed too soon in recent years.
So next year, Thatcher will be making HALF of what Carey Price is making. Price has the name, but with his performance this season, who would you rather have on your team for the next 5 years? And with the cap crunch, this is an even bigger steal. Once Holtby bolts for Seattle, that basically pays for Thatcher's new contract.
