  1. This would be an interesting trade. Nurse to Toronto. Marner to Chicago. 1st 6th and 7th round draft pick to Edmonton

  2. Best hockey content on youtube,
What about marner to st louis for parayko and a young forward.

  3. Again. If Vegas does trade Theadore Why would Vegas trade 2 playoff performers for offence winger not good in playoffs, Vargas get more separate trades

  4. I guess Toronto doesn’t have a salary cap! If Players have a problem playing for the Vegas coach how do you think Marner would fit in!

  5. Why this won't workout….

#1. Why would Vegas want to give up a critical part of their team success IN THE PLAYOFFS for Marner (albeit he is the better talent)?

#2. Why would Marner agree to a trade? Unless he's being ''forced'' out through decreased playing time and/or told they don't plan on giving him the opportunity to score points in a contract year (which would be very poor judgement on the Leaf's part).

#3. Toronto fans don't seem to get it through their brains (mostly because most of them are convinced the real NHL works just like their X-Box games)…Just because the contract situation works out doesn't mean the other team WANTS your player! Why wouldn't Vegas just wait until free-agency to take a shot at Marner instead? Why the rush? Why the heck would they give up such crazy important assets for someone who's verbally stated SEVERAL times he plans on testing free-agency to see his market value?!!

  6. Pietro coming home that ship has sailed imo. If he signs here or gets traded here with a deal not involving Marner makes sense. But we can't sit here and think a player who's on the verge of retiring is a good deal for Marner.

Maybe a JT deal for Pietro. But i don't see Tavares leaving the leafs.

  7. Two things: why would a contending team want a soft marshmallow like Marner and secondly he isn't waiving his NTC and then when he walks after next season the leafs get squat….lol

  8. Marner isnt going to get you what you think he will. Marner will eventually be a 10, 11, or more million cap hit. Not many teams are going to be willing to take that on.

  9. my armchair gm trade idea – 3 team trade

    toronto receives – s.jones + k.johnson
    columbus receives – marner + #18 overall
    chicago receives – #4 overall

  10. I don't think winning is all that important to Marner, and why would he waive to go somewhere with a difficult coach after the Babcock experience?

  11. The problem is Marner is not worth the contract he has. If he thinks he is getting paid more next team he is crazy. You have to consider the money to bring in and out. But to think in any way leafs are going to make out on the trade is crazy. Good example Tyler Seguin trade.

  12. Don't think so…. The leafs will have to offer a pretty big sweetener for another team to take a one dimensional player that doesn't show up in the playoffs anymore. Leafs will have to retain some money and offer up a late first rounder, maybe second. He's like Trudeau, Not Worth the Cost

  13. I don't see why Toronto would do this. If you move M.M. you have to get back a young player with a high ceiling. The Leafs can't fix their problem with one move. 🏒

  14. The smartest moves for MLSE will transpire as follows: Have Marner play out his contract and not resign him. Players on their final year of expiring contracts play harder. Once Draisaitl is available end of next year they should put the best offer forward to acquire his superior services. The current highest paid player on the Leafs couldn't care less about winning in the playoffs. 34 wouldn't sign for eight years here as he wants to keep his options open, so four years is all he gave us. If the Leafs wimp out again in next years playoffs then get rid of Prima Donna Matthews and go after McDavid when he comes available the following year. Who cares if he scores 80 regular season goals. If he can't dominate in the playoffs we don't need him. He'll be more than happy to go play in La La land. Then take the 13.25M he's getting and use it to bring in McDavid for 15M. While we're at it bring back Hyman, who's the Du(m)bass that let him go…Of course the pecker heads in charge don't have the balls, or are willing to follow through with the best moves for the team..Bowmanville Dave
