NHL has the biggest hard on for the 94 Rangers one of the most overrated teams in history like damn they needed 8 Oilers and 6 92 Hawks finalists to beat a team they were 6-0 against in the regular season (Devils) by a fluke goal. They barley beat an 8th seed (Canucks) that almost blew a 3-1 series lead i mean people don't call em the NY Oilers for no reason lol

Despite the outcome, this is still the greatest playoff series I've ever seen, and I've seen most since 1990. It really helped mold the Devils into the powerhouse they would become for the following decade.

I met matteau at my local fall festival. He was doing a thing for the Rangers with kids. Nice dude took pictures signed a couple pucks and when I told him Richter was my favorite he pulled out his phone and I got to FaceTime with Richter. 2 really nice dudes. LGR!!!!! Looking good this year.

Still remember that day , it’s one of the more memorable. I’m a native of NYC but, at the time, was serving in the Marine Corps on the west coast , 29 Palms CA. I was promoted to E6 (Staff Sargent) that morning , then went to celebrate and watch the game. It’s one of those times you feel like it’s all going your way. Great game, great memory
This is equivalent to the "And the Giant's win the pennant! The Giant's win the pennant! The Giant's win the pennant! " That was a great Devils team. I hated them but I totally respect them, They got even better later with the Elias–Arnott–Sykora line. I can only talk about the Devils because of that night with Matteau.
