The Rangers were a much better team, with a significantly better goalie, than the Oilers and look what the Panthers did to them.
He is a coach who quit on his team in WINNIPEG this kind of coach would never be hired by a canadian team. Once a quitter always a quitter, so no matter his spin with the media the game is played on the ice , not in front of a microphone.
These media keep asking the players and the coaches about how much this means for Oilers fans but also Canada as a nation. Clearly they do not understand typical Canadian hockey fans. The amount of people that will pivot and cheer for a Canadian rival team is the extreme minority. The Cup to Canada thing is overplayed. We don't actively support our rivals lol.

i know I speak for the 60 plus crowd whose grown up 57 + years of hockey, playing beer league and tournaments all over our country, our kids played in our mostly "volunteer programs" till they joined us in beer league, so i could stay between the blue lines, we all talk hockey, think breathe cheer cry about it….Canadians understand the sport like no other…after we shake hands with our opponents, we cheer them on whole heartedly… Canadians hockey players are a class act….don't forget that , our kids become a mature person keeping our stupid thoughts to ourselves.., despite some of the pitiful self indulged leadership we have to go on.. GO OIL (40 year Canuck Fan and still hoping)
