Funny how we haven't heard a word from HNIC and Sportsnet. I would at least expected that they would have said the comments were Gazdic's, and that the actions/reaction were not what they expect from their employees. I also find it a little strange that Gazdic has shown no regret for his choice of words, especially the dig he took on the team and organization. Just a short apology of his miscue would show us he acted in anger, and said some things that he wishes he hadn't.
Farhan, the difference between your experience and Luke's, was that you didn't turn into a child on national media. Anyone can feel any way they want, the question is how you act. Professionals don't do what he did. Even if he felt hurt. Be better than that.
my problems with Gazdic remain the same as when I first saw him about 2 years back. He brings nothing to the table and just isn't interesting. Who hired this guy in the first place ?

There are members of every fanbase that are truly horrible trolls. There are other people who act normal right up until they get into crazy fan mode, like a driver getting road rage in traffic. Going after an entire fanbase is a trash move by a member of the media, but apparently it's what you do for cheap clicks and engagement these days, and a reminder to sports fans that maybe you're not ready for the big stage.

The "rookie move" narrative doesn't pass the smell test with me. A guy who chose a career in the public eye is shocked that he's under a microscope and may rile up some crazies? Is this his first exposure to social media in life? Don't think so, looks too young to not have grown up with it to some degree. Not an excuse but social media is more of a joke now than ever. If Sportsnet does not properly address his comments about the Canucks team getting 'dusted' and being 'a joke', I will get rid of that channel and anything to do with Rogers that I pay for. I don't appreciate SN ignoring those comments and only focusing on what he said about the fanbase. Not all of us are low comprehension viewers/listeners. Don't tell us the sky is green when it's blue. Please tell me your show is not associated with Sportsnet/Rogers, I may have to stop listening to you.
