I don't expect him on this list but pat Kaleta was my favorite Sabre to play with some grit. His goal celebration is the best

Wow, Peters? No way man. You're missing some big names. I'm old school. Peters used to fight while looking away. Where is Schoenfeld, Gare, Boulton, Dudley, and dare I say John Scott? Bob Halkidis? Dude, The Hammer Schultz was a Sabre at the end of his career. Putting Barnaby, Peters, and Hartman in front of May is just sacreligious. 😳😳😳

Love Rob Ray. I enjoy his commentating as well. He's actually pretty funny. I've got a Barnaby jersey that I wear when I go to Kings and Ducks games. Still have a little blood on it from a fight me and my two brothers got into in San Jose after an O.T. loss. By the way, we did not initiate the fight, but we did finish it. Good times.
Jim Schoenfeld belongs on this list if for no other reason than the fight with Wayne Cashman on 12/13/72 that crashed through the Zamboni doors. He was the original Sabres tough guy, joined by Jerry Korab. Brad May was more important than Barnaby, Peters and Hartman, and ought to be #2, IMHO. When it comes to all-world pests, Barnaby is #1.
I got #2 Wayne! Hartman and Mcguire had a ton of heart and would've done anything to help their team. I miss those days.

It had to be Ray. Nothing screamed Buffalo more than the sight of big Rob minus his shirt and pads going to the box. Proper slap shot greatness. 😋

Hartman and Maguire were definitely my favourites. Honourable mention to Dave 'The Hammer' Schultz who played 41 games over two seasons in Buffalo? Imagine him on the 74-75 Sabres! (He put up 472 PIM that season, avg. 6 minutes EVERY single game. Still the NHL record. He also averaged nearly 5 minutes per game in their Cup-winning playoffs that year)

My big beef with this list is Larry Playfair. At worst, he should be number 2. I feel he's number 1. He was THE most feared guy until Probert came around. PIM totals are not super high because nobody wanted to tangle with him. Special mention should go to Val James. I know, the criteria was minimum of 30 fights. However, anybody over 45 knows of the legend of Val James, even though he only played 7 games for the Sabres. Trust me, what he did to Terry O'Reilly was nothing short of criminal. Also, Shoney belongs in the top ten for his through the boards tilt with Cashman. That moment signaled to the NHL the Sabres arrived. jmo
