@Canadiens de Montréal

McMessiah has spoken. Give me Demidov or give me death!

  3. It’s very possible. Colombus could take Lindstrom after Chicago and Anaheim taking Ds. They would have the assurance from the Demidov camp that he would come over to NA next year for them to take him though.

  4. Heywazza

My prediction is that both Demidov and Lindstrom fall to 5th and that the Habs decide to go for Lindstrom, which will in turn make this sub lose it’s shit. Then Arizona will pick Iginla or someone random as they like to do and Demidov will fall to the sens or even the Kraken. Probably the Kraken lol

Sennecke un au revoir, McCagg. Sennecke un au revooooiiiiiiiiiiiiir.

This is the only thing that would disappoint me in this draft.

Actually that’s not true, because I have the utmost respect for the management of Canadiens, so, if they pick demidov, then I would assume my objections are misplaced, and it’s a good pick.

However, I don’t believe this sequence of events will unfold.

Columbus is the wild card. Apparently they want to add size so we can only hope.

  8. Zblancos

I’d be ecstatic with Dickinson or Demidov

Surin is the steal of the draft. He has all the tools to become a star.

I pray to god that Anaheim or Colombus takes Linstrom and basically force Hughes to take Demidov.

Enough with the overthinking, its to a point where I wouldnt even be confident they would pick Celebrini at 1 if his name was Celebrinov.

  11. PaulWesterberg84

The annoying thing would be to pick Senneck if Demidov/Lindstrom are available, annoying in the short term since none us know how this will all play out. But surely pick one of those 2 guys.

Been flipping a lot on this but I’ve decided I’m fine with either Lindstrom or Demidov. Before it was Demidov all the way, but quality of competition concerns can’t be ignored.

  13. Baronleduc

I hope too. Not sure about Surin.

IIRC he was one of the few who called out Slafkovsky to be picked 1st OA two years ago.

2022, we pick slaf (I wanted Cooley for offensive upside)

Turns out slaf is on pace to become a menace

2023, we pick Reinbacher (like many fans I wanted Michkov)

We don’t know yet but it’s true that Reinbacher fills a big need on the right side

2024, I hope we go for some kind of offensive upside if available. Demidov or Catton (is he a big reach at 5?)

We simply can’t rely on signing or trading for this type of player. Gotta draft one at some point if it’s on a silver platter.

If Demidov and Lindstrom are available I am leaning towards Lindstrom. Demidov has a very high ceiling but his knee is a concern, scouts have not been able to see in person, and SKA have his brothers in their system and could use that as leverage to make him stay. If Lindstrom passes team medical evaluations I think he is the guy.

  16. okmijnmko

If they do it’s cause Nick Bobrov has that sweet insider Russian knowledge then he’s our guy – Grant is way off with his Sennecke over value anyway – I expect for him not to even get discussed at top ten.

p.s. that Lindstrom connection to Brendan Gallagher’s father training gives me hope that, if he’s healthy, that’s the pick.

  17. A lot can change after that Russian prospect showcase. For us and for CBJ and Anaheim.

  18. bcgrappler

I just feel that 5 is outside of top forward range for 2 years in a row. My guess.

    1. Celebrini
    2. Dimidov
    3. Levshunov
    4. Lindstrom
    5. ……….iginla?……and career wise it’s a decent difference between the top 3 forwards and iginla.

Like lindstrom never breaks 80 points, but can take over games with his physical tools, while iginla is a solid second line 25 to 30 goal guy for 4 or 5 years hitting between 50 and 60 points.

Maybe they take the swing on Senneke who has a hard to predict ceiling, but if they whiff, welp yhe rebuild may be fucked.

This reminds me of when the sens picked 10th in 2021.

They just missed dylan gunther, William eklund and Brandt Clarke. They passed on cole Sillenger, matt coronato, jasper wallstedt, and wyatt Johnson.

    Time will tell.

  19. I understand skipping Michkov, but I won’t forgive management if we skip Demigod.

  20. full circle moment now

i want McCagg to be correct

  21. The problem with Demidov is that Ska will probably use his brothers hockey careers as blackmail to make him stay in Russia

  22. bcoco120

Its gonna be Anton silayev. Don’t ever think about it

  23. steeler2323

No real need to draft a Russian just for him to have a country mate. Bogdan will probably come to Montreal (or Laval) by the time Demidov would be ready to come.
