The guy has been, legitimately, one of the worst head coaches in recent memory so I’m pessimistic he will bring much of anything. Hopefully this isn’t who they have pegged as a Sully replacement should the early season not go well.

Looks like he’s only overseeing the defensive unit. Doesn’t say anything about the powerplay. I guess I’m not as annoyed and will wait to see what they do with whoever runs the powerplay.
Still a little annoyed though. Just continue to cater to Sullivan and it’s clear nobody from ownership down think he’s a problem at all. It’s baffling.

What’s one more Sullivan added to the bench

PP will not change -its the players, wasnt on Rierden but this sub cant blame the players. Gotta have a scapegoat

Great hire graves gonna be a Norris candidate

Did he get 100 points out of Karlson? This seems like the perfect guy for the job.

Hell yeah, we figured out how to go back in time and get a younger Mike Sullivan. Back 2 back cup runs confirmed!!!! In all seriousness, I like this move. Quinn did a good job in New York when he was there then he coached Karlsson to his 100 point season. Obviously, his record in San Jose doesn’t reflect anything.

Some coaches are better as assistants than head coaches. This guy might boost the defense
CynicWalnut
Hopefully better if you have someone focused on the power play instead of split between defense and power play.

Did they some how clone Sully? That guy looks like his younger brother.

Idk man. If you were expecting them to fire Reirden and hire some big name experienced head coach to run the PP and that to be some kind of magic silver bullet to get the team back into the playoffs that’s on you and your own delusion. I also don’t think you can really draw any meaningful conclusions from his time coaching a team that was blatantly and egregiously tanking.
The Pens are either going to be better next year or they aren’t, and this move is unlikely to be the one of the biggest reasons why either way. It’s probably going to be fine.

Is it my imagination or does he look like MIke Sullivan’s younger brother?
