Vegas is around everything
If true this a very realistic trade partner and I can see Marner waiving his NMC for Vegas
They’ve got some pieces we could really use and I bet the money would work too.
I actually don’t love the idea of trading away a player of the calibre of Marner for many reasons. Having said that, the NHL is a cap league. We cannot afford to pay 4 forwards the percentage of cap we are and compete. That’s the biggest issue. We don’t have the balance to our lineup.
No cap, obviously you keep Marner, but it is what it is at this point. For that reason, I can’t imagine competing for the cup next year if we still have Marner.
In NHL I traded Marner and Timmins to Vegas for Theodore and Karlsson and now the Leafs are one win away from the Finals. Not saying the same will happen in real life, but I’m not not saying that it will either
He specifically mentioned Theodore and Thompson.
Throw in a good pick or prospect and I think that’s a pretty solid return.
