Hope he fails spectacularly. Nice guy though.

And this is how they’ll win another lottery…

If I liked the Penguins I would feel bad for them. He should not coach in the NHL at all. Surely there are universities looking to hire for their hockey teams.

Penguins fans, I am kind of sorry to hear this for you

Guys careers gonna be cooked when they miss the playoffs

am i the only one that this its so strange that we post news for other teams in this sub just because they were affiliated with NYR at one point in the past?

Somehow he’s going to be on the NHL Coaching Carousel for life

I wish him nothing but the best. The guy has carved out a hard life for him as a coach. He is basically there to babysit while a team tanks. He gets terrible records and is eventually fired when they move up the ladder of the rebuild process.

He likely gets 1-2 more jobs this way but it’s thankless

They’re hoping it’ll revive Karlson back to his Norris form.

He needs to coach college hockey

Not the best look when your former 1RW is another team’s 3RW (Tarasenko), and your former head coach is another team’s assistant coach.

I really can’t believe he has a career still after his horrible NY run ok get a chance in San Jose but legit being a dumpster fire there . I think he has proven he can’t coach at the nhl level
