Could use another top 4 D, but I don’t hate the forward group.

  2. Rumors have it that Hronek ain’t coming back.

Amadio and Heiden in our top-6? 😐

Also Tufte over Hoglander, Suter or Podkolzin?

And no way Hronek resigns for 7.2M.

Is Carolina having trouble signing Chatfield? I feel like if they don’t get him inked they’re majorly screwing up

You have the Canucks winning every contract in the off season. Those guys will be getting more money

I don’t really have any issues with what you’re suggesting for the defense core, but my lord that forward group is atrocious.

Heinen is a bottom six forward at best and although I’m not opposed to bringing him in, he would be a fit for our 3rd line, not 2nd.

Tufte is not an NHL calibre player, next.

Amadio has traits you can appreciate but he’s not a 1st line NHL winger nor is he the answer to us getting Petey going consistently.

My only gripe with Guentzel is that he’s not so much of a creator of offense as he is a finisher. Watching him play you can see that he’s mobile throughout the offensive zone, he’s got great vision and hands, and his shot is pretty nice too although he doesn’t show it off as much. His goals tend to be around the netfront or when he’s the recipient of an amazing pass.

He’s benefited playing with Sid and Rust for most of his career and both of those guys dig for pucks and are amazing passers. Petey is an elite passer but he doesn’t have that same tenacity that Sid and Rust do so I have worries that Guentzel and Petey wouldn’t mesh as well as Canucks fans are hoping. Also 9.5M for him means that Hronek likely goes. Brock is due for a raise after this year, then Huggy and Demko are due for raises in two years. This team has to be extremely responsible with their cap dollars in the near future.

    Tufte isn’t a regular NHLer

I’m okay with one of Amadio or Heinen in our top-6, but not both

Dillon is probably going to get double what you’re suggesting for AAV in free agency

Just sign all the players known to be lethal against the Canucks. No way we lose another game.

  9. 9.5 for Guentzel and 7.2 for Hronek. I don’t know about that…

It’s not bad honestly . However, I don’t think Hronek resigns and I think Dillon will cost more money. I absolutely do see him coming here though. and there would need to be another RD coming in along with Chatfield. I’d imagine one that is a step down from Hronek, whoever that may be.

I think you’ve gotta cut Chatfield out of this lineup, and go w/ Juulsen as the 3RHD. Dillon is at least 1 million too little, probably mid 3’s.

I think in this scenario, you really need to consider trading Garland so you can maybe re-invest that into the top-6. Flip Garland for the picks to move Mikheyev, and then sign Toffoli/Stephenson at a similar number type to Garland.

I’d rather try and find a way to pry Tanner Jeannot out of Tampa versus Riley Tufte. That said, I like getting him on a contract (1 way money) and having him battle it out with guys like PDG/Podkolzin/Aman for a roster spot.

Guenztal this year, Crosby next year

lol i would rather give stamkos 5 years before getting jake

Our top 6 needs to win board battles and be first to the puck more consistently. It was brutal watching our offense be one and done on so many plays. I’m not sure how well this fixes the issue. And if u sign Guentzel, I think it makes Lekkerimaki redundant.

What’s the thought process of us giving a 2nd round pick, plus two players. And only getting a 7th back. Like I get paying for them to take cap. But 5 rounds seems a tad excessive.
