I hope we don’t move Nik but if the speculations are true and he’s not looking to sign past next season, it might be a real possibility. Sucks our team’s always seems like we’re playing him as second fiddle. When he has opportunities he plays as good if not better than KC IMO. But what do I know.
Ehlers top goals in a season is 29, Connor’s worst season outside of his rookie year was 26 in a injury shortened 56 games and in his best year he scored 47. I love Ehlers but they’re not on the same level. (I also don’t want to lose him for nothing) The rumour floated by TSN about the Hurricanes Martin Necas being available might be a trade partner?
There were rumors about a straight-up Ehlers for Chychrun trade with Ottawa. Two talented but inconsistent and injury-prone players on expiring contracts coming off full seasons, so it makes more sense than any of these at least. Not sure it’s what the Sens need but could work for both teams.
In my opinion, trade him for a 1st or 2nd and quality defenceman. I think you’ll see Lambert up next year, i think he’s ready to rock and roll.
